Mark let me tell you, I ride MTB better than I ride 20 any day or I used to.
Its always been a dirty little secret of mine. Why do you think I clean house on cruiser?
Ive done gaps well over 40 feet on hard tails, ran 3 seconds faster than the fastest pro during qualifying at a cane creek series race and rode trails like its nothing, but that one time that fork blew thru its travel and i got mine.
Granted what I was riding wasn't your average stuff, But the pain i felt wasn't your average bmx crash either.
Walking half a mile out of the woods with your heart visibly pumping your blood from your face was all i needed to see.
I may ride mountain bikes again one day but I wont be dropping off of rooftops again or using bmx track berms as take off ramps for 40 foot gaps anymore.
I think it might be more along the lines of casual down hill and all mountain riding. _________________ And to think a doctor told me I could be in a wheel chair in as little as 4 years.
What happened with your fork? Did it completely compress? Or did it fail? It probably went down so fast you didn't even know what happened.
I just thought the Union Street looked like a hot bike. Being used to BMX I don't think I'd dig the suspension forks though.
I really want ONE bike. One bike that I can race/park/jump. So I see these guys throw around the MTB at parks like 20 inchers and I'm thinking OK a cruiser might work for that especially since thats what I normally race. And since I'm a short guy I want a short bike - I'd be willing to have someone make me a custom frame.
I don't beat the crap out of my bikes, I could probably just build an aluminum race cruiser and that would work fine. Maybe I'll take the cruiser to the park this weekend and see how it rides.
It was an air fork and I just put to much force on it that last run.
It compressed all the way thru and fast.
Causing the bike to nose dive off the lip.
This was just before impact. Take into mind I was still a good 8 to 10 feet off the ground and still flipping.
The lip I launched from is already out of the pic. _________________ And to think a doctor told me I could be in a wheel chair in as little as 4 years.
Mountain bikes have a tendency to nose dive any way. _________________ And to think a doctor told me I could be in a wheel chair in as little as 4 years.
The 20 is the do all bike, You just learn to beat all those 17 year olds _________________ And to think a doctor told me I could be in a wheel chair in as little as 4 years.
Black market is a decent product put out by S&M. We just sold the 24 and have the frame being built up as we speak.
I am not a huge fan of suspension bikes either, Spence. I wrecked hard on my GT MTB at Headrush once. Threw it back into storage where it has been ever since. _________________ Bye for now,

TAKE THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY AND YOU HAVE LIFE. WELCOME! NOW HANG ON AND RIDE.
Not too crazy about the flight cranks, but had them laying around. The brakes were a PITA to set up but work great. I sort of wished I got the silver frame with gray parts that I was thinking of at first, but whatever... I fully intend to beat the crap out of this bike hehehehe
I wish I could have went this weekend. I worked today, went and wrote the offer on that house, and am home relaxing now. I need a day off though, so tomorrow is out, unfortunately. I have been procrastinating on the college work so I need to put my head down and get some work done tomorrow.
Gym tomorrow night though. I feel like I am getting over being sick. Time to really get ready for the season. _________________ Nicholas Rauch
