I went to go211.com and watched most of todays amateur rounds and the pro rounds of the grands... I saw the Woodings and Jeremy Rauch and a few other local riders. It is pretty cool and the track looks nice.. check it out, 3rd round and quarters, semis and mains start tomorrow at 8am. |

Here's what Matt updated me on
Chris Aman finished 6th in his main and Nat #2 in 16 Novice...welcome to expert Chris, Great job
Matt crashed in his second round and didn't get out of his motos. Nat #23 in 15 ex. I'm damn proud since it's his first year in ex.
Scott Doland finished 6th, 5th, 6th out of 6. Not sure where he ended up, somewhere in the 60's I think
Justin Ledoux didn't make it out of his motos
Pat Parker 1, 3, 1 in his motos and (I think) 2nd in his main. Either Nat 1 or 2 in 26-34 Ex
Allen Currier didn't make his main (Super X)
Tommy Zula didn't make his main (16 ex)
Buck Taylor finished 4th in his main with a broken elbow. _________________ Clint Bonnett

Don't forget Rochelle Wooding making both mains, finishing second on the 20" and second on the year. Cruiser she won the main but had dropped one moto with an outside gate and a slow first straight. That put her number two for the year on that bike too.
Ross Wooding made the tough 17-24 Cruiser main. I think he pulled a fifth.
Amy Herrmann made the womens cruiser main, I believe she came in with a fourth.
Jeremy rode well for the weekend. Friday night had a decent finish first round. Second round he was heading into the second turn passing two people and his jersey caught in a kids bars, they locked and he catapulted up to the top of the berm. He had trouble breathing for a while and skipped out on the rest of the night. Saturday, he made it out of motos, through his quarter, and into the semi. Crashed on the first straight, got up and was heading for the pro section. He cased the first one and broke his wrist on impact (both bones). He has to go in for surgery probably next week.
Kyle Klumbach pulled thirds in motos and rode really well. He rode really well in his eighth but had a slow gate.
Keagan nelson made it out of motos but not past his quarter.
Johnny Anton rode well and made it through quarters and into the semi. Good job for racing just over a year.
Colin Severson rode really well for his first expert grands. The kid was solid in motos (seconds I think), rolled through his quarter but had a rough semi so his ride ended there.
Carly rode well but finished third in the main I think.
Javery Hattat rode well, made the main in 17-18 X. It'll be interesting to see if he makes the jump to pro.
Max Egdorf had a heartbreaker of a semi. He came out of the first turn mid pack and blew up in the third straight with a little help I believe.
All in all a crazy weekend. I wasn't really into the track. I liked it more last year. But good racing and great weather. _________________ Nicholas Rauch

Javery Hattat Is the help that "Blew up Max." Long story short, he better make the jump to Pro! All that I'm willing to say is the Pro class will teach him how to ride his bike, and its about time he learned how to ride. _________________ Bill Egdorf |

I saw the video but didn't really see all that much contact. It was definitely a crowded section when it happened.
I've never known Javery to purposely take out anyone. _________________ Bye for now,

These 2 guys are 2 of the most aggressive riders in the what I consider the toughest class out there. My son Ryan Maleady has raced with these guys since he turned expert at 13-14. Javery and max have been the kings since they have been 8-9 yr olds. Was not at Grands, Ryan started College this week at State U College at Oneonta but can tell you neither of these guys will every give you an .00001 of an inch when a big race in on the line. I don't mean that in a bad way, that's just the way I,ve viewed it the 3-4 years i've been around their class. Yes, I believe Javery is turning pro, Ryan talked to him last week in Bennington and told him Grands would be probably last race, gave up opening week of High school football to go this year. After football ends he plans on making jump up. Might be a long shot, but I would not be surprised to see someone out that group, Long, javery, Max , Rubeck or Kubalik have a shot at 2012 Olympics if they get proper coaching and dedicate themselves just to that. wouldn't that be something????? Sorry. I was just confused as to whether I had said something wrong.
And sorry about forgetting Jena. She rode really well, but I was really tired when I typed that up. _________________ Nicholas Rauch

it was a pretty fun time i would say. my first expert grands. had nic long in my moto which is just an embarrassment for someone who has just moved up. didn't do so hot. like nick, i wasn't too into the track. came out with 36th plate, not too bad i would say. didn't really have the usual crew there so not as much laughs as in past years but watching greg nelson wipe his swamp ass on kyle was kinda funny... actually more interesting/gross.
i was surprised the moto count was as high as it was with gas and everything. _________________ Brendan Costello - NorthEastPull racing |
