3 hours in the bead blasting cabinet makes a black podium look like this, now to decide what color to paint it...
And this morning I drove to VT and picked up this beauty, I have been searching for one of these for about 7 years, finally found it...

Yeah, I was ready to paint it bright red, then I saw the completes are red. I would like to do something unique..
The last time I really rode well was on that Huffy bike, so I figured why not get another.... |

My initial plan was raw metal with clear, right now it looks too much like the silver 08 Podium, then blue popped up, I saw a seafoam green GTO on Speed channel this morning and said hey I could paint it ugly green, that would be unique for sure...
I am leaning toward a medium blue at this minute... |

My old Schwinn Brian Foster Signature Blue Falcon had the coolest blue paint job. Unlike anything else I have ever seen. It was like a metallic undercoating with a really high gloss blue tint over it so it was the shiniest thing. Scratched really easy though. _________________ Nicholas Rauch

I plan to spend as much of today as needed to polish the frame, then I will decide what direction to go from there. Might just stop and call it good or proceed to a color.. you all will be the second or third to know... probably not Barney however....

the major polish is done, see pics...some finish hand work is needed but I am pleased with the direction. I want the raw metal look, not super finished like chrome, some swirls and tool marks are character marks

It may be Tom. His chain tensioner was all bent to crap. I had to straighten it.
I knew the polished look would come out great.
Put the decals on it Tom and clear coat about 5-6 layers.
Read between the lines all you naysayers. _________________ Bye for now,

A little hand work, then comes the clear. I was told 1 coat of clear before the decals then a crapload after.. |

I have clearcoated my street frame. I put like 2 or 3 coats on there at least. Just the spray paint kind but it has held up nicely. I have been riding that frame for about a year since I did it. _________________ Nicholas Rauch

I am unsure but, I believe you cannot powdercoat aluminum? thought I heard that somewhere along the way... regardless I will probably not be doing that.. I am kinda going for the ratrod look, like I made the frame in my basement |

jefe the reason that the chain tensor was bent was cause i got it from one of my friends and he couldn't get it off his wheel so he hit it with a hammer lol _________________ Kyle Klumbach

You can do aluminum with no problem. I had my motorcycle wheels done as well as several parts on my wife's bike. Some people were concerned about the heat. But I have never had a worry with it. And up your way is Zumax THE best powdercoaters on the planet. _________________ Clint Bonnett
