What does that have to do with CPSC regulations?
SINZ, Intense, and VSI are getting huge market shares because of excellent marketing and very competitive pricing. I still don't know if they are making huge amounts of money but I don't see what the problem is. _________________ Nicholas Rauch

It is called survival of the fittest, natural selection. If VSI is in a position to make it happen, then more power to them. _________________ www.baxterbmx.com |

I personally think part of the problem we are seeing and have seen over the past few years/decade is that the BMX market - a small pie - has been split among too many, meaning nobody gets a big enough piece to make a solid amount of cash - substantial enough to make a real reinvestment in the sport. _________________ Nicholas Rauch

Quite the buzz on this one across the internet.
I guess my true opinion on it is the government needs to stay the hell out of our affairs. The rest of the world operates with far fewer regulations and has, therefore, undercut the United States as it is.
Let the market manage itself. If people would keep their hands out of it and quit trying to fix things we would all be in a better place.
Look at it historically: The tactics of Roosevelt in the 1930s didn't pull us out - World War II did. The crazy CENSORED WORD that went down with fuel prices in the 70s - no politician or economist solved that. If you keep your hands off of a market it - will manage itself.
Last year, people had some issues with lead infested toys coming into the united states. So, what happened? People stopped buying toys from China. The best thing that has happened in years.
Did the government make that correction? No. People said - wow these people overseas are making some CENSORED WORD - let's not buy it!
The liberal mentality that has been placed into office - and I am talking about Republicans and Democrats will lead to the downfall of the United States sooner rather than later.
Unfortunately, all of the people being brought into office have an agenda to affect change by a means of regulation. _________________ Nicholas Rauch

Don't plan on low gas for much longer. OPEC is cutting production again soon. I also heard on the news yesterday that 4 refineries will be shut down for maintenance and updates starting after the first of the year.
I've been holding onto my money. My wife has been out of work for 6 months now. Her state unemployment benefits are done. She is now on the first week of the 13 week federal extension. If she doesn't find something when that's up, it goodbye to the house and to Matt's racing. The only reason that I'm going to Lexington is bacause there's 3 other riders making the trip with us.
We have a realtor coming in to give us an appraisal on the house. Just in case we have to get rid of it in a hurry (yea right). But my logic is why stay on a sinking ship. _________________ Clint Bonnett

That's freaking ridiculous.
I'm glad that with my job there is a bit of security - not a ton of money, but definitely some security.
Hopefully this whole thing corrects itself soon. _________________ Nicholas Rauch

I did forward the link to vintage to Jerry Landrum. He had no idea of all this stuff. He was going to get hold of Bill at Supercross and Ryan at Kuwahara. Since BMXMania is more of a NEWS resource for a good part of the sport, it will get more peoples attention when he gets the story together on there.
Just posting it on BB's really won't get the attention of the vast majority of riders, parents, etc. _________________ Clint Bonnett

Well, it was only time till our corrupt government took more control of our freedom.
This was definitely where our leaders have wanted this country to end up. They have all known for a while that with all of the outsourcing the USA does, that the next step in their climb to greed, is to sell this country.
Greed and corruption, which our countries leaders have used to gain money and power for themselves for the past 30 years, will result in a bankrupt USA.
I hate to say it, but no job is stable and no one has security as long as someone else is in control of your destiny. _________________ Bye for now,
