as few of ya know ive decided to take up 20" also for various reasons... curious to those of u who have seen me ride if u feel id be competitive in novice or not.. as far as i knew novice was when people were manualing and jumping a bit... could be wrong however just thought id throw it out there and see what others thought
17+ rookie or 25-34 nov?
thanks

I moved up so I would be with people closer to my own age. I cannot manual or jump. Plus I have heard the rookie class can be sketchy. with guys your own age they are all in the same boat, "we gotta go to work on Monday" and tend to be less rough.
You have seen me race, can you keep up with me? I am usually the back of the packer in my class.... _________________ www.baxterbmx.com |

not sure ... just know everyone in my cruiser class races expert in 20 lol... and cruiser class for some reason is really rough it might actually be a subconsious thing to not crank the first straight like id want sometimes to stay out of any tangles.... been putting thought into the novice thing though for more competition... just wish there were more people in the class _________________ hit up HUBIES restaurant/pizzaria or their catering or wood stove shop |

Well D-mac.
I started out as a rookie again in 2003 at the age of 33. There were a few older guys then, but we always seemed to be lumped in with some 16 & over kids. The younguns always seemed to want to prove something. Well, they soon found out that us old fellas weren't going to back down, and most of the time they ended up wrecking eachother. But there were many sketchy riders in that group. and now I think it has gotten worse. Too many seem to want that #1 Rookie plate and will ride at any length to get it.
I say go novie or go home. haha _________________ Bye for now,

Why not register as a rookie, check it out and you can move up the same day if you want. It's east to do a self move up but you can"t move back down |

you can move up instantly, I raced the regional day one at binghamton as rookie, when I registered for the next day I moved up and raced nov later that day.....might be the way to go, you can move up easy but not back if you are over your head. _________________ www.baxterbmx.com |

Seems you could use a couple lessons yourself after what I saw in Lexington..... _________________ Clint Bonnett

Id suggest goin the 25-34 nov. The 17+ rookie always has sandbaggers and with the 25-34 youd have alot more people your age instead of 18 and 19 year olds. _________________ Justin Wade |

maybe I will go back to 20. I really don't want to race both. It'll be either one or the other.
I still have my Standard 20" kicking around. |
