Sounds like a awsome set up.  I wanted the 21.2 but they only had the 20.8 left.  and i tried regular chains for a while and i kept breaking them or stretching them out and i could never get my back wheel where i wanted it. witht he half link everything been goin good so far.

I ran a Pintle for about ten seconds.  Things busted so quick.

It broke when I was pedaling up the backside of the box at X-Dreams.  My thought, since it broke so easily, was - what if that thing broke while I was cranking at something.  Definitely would suck.

I don't know if mine has rust, but there is definitely some veinish looking orange/red stuff under the clear coat.

I triple clear coated mine after re sanding it about a year or so ago.  Absolutely love it.

Just remove everything and do a new clear coat.  I used some light sandpaper on mine before clear coating.  I used two or three cans of krylon on it and it's still nice and glossy.

Later,

Be careful with the half-link chains. Not just for breakage but for trashing a brand new 9t driver.

My Demo aluminum driver is shot now. Didn't realize that it was wearing down the teeth until I checked it this past weekend.

Now I need to order a new driver and a new chain.

Unfortunately Nad's Comp is my only option.

I may have to figure out something else in the meanwhile.

well using a aluminum driver in the first place was the mistake.  The only material for drivers is cromoly I had Odyssey Ti driver and it was gone in no time.  Even had it all fixed with new pawls and still broke.  Ti and Aluminum are not meant for drivers at all.

What hubs are those Jeff?

If they are the the Anorexia and Bulimia, can't remember which is front and rear, be careful.

When I was working at the shop we had the 9T on those come apart repeatedly.  The bearings in the drivers on those are the size of the ball on a ball point pen.

I personally would switch to something a little larger on the drive train just to be safe.  I run a 28-10 without problems.  The smaller you go on those rear drivers with a 14 mm axle, the smaller the bearings have to be.

I didn't have a choice on the driver being chromoly or aluminum. That's what I was shipped.

The bearings didn't go. It was the teeth. They got rounded from the 1/2 link chain.

I just ordered a new one in chromoly. And it is a 9t.

Didn't have the funds to go 28 - 10.

I dont think it was the halflink.  Regular chains dfo it too. it was most probably cause of the aluminum driver.  And i was running a 28/10 for a while now im down to a 26/9.  I like the pedaling to be a little harder than normal.
