I know the bubbles can work but a friend of mine looked into them, and it's hard to get somebody to mortgage them as the life expectancy is around 15 years.
Also here in beautiful NY, the electricity to keep that thing inflated is going to be insane. I would guess at least $2500 a month. _________________ Nicholas Rauch

The bubble in Mass collapsed a couple times. Very expensive to reinflate and fix any damage. From what I remember hearing, that dome was $60,000 in the hole before they even held a race there.
D-mac,
That dome in Syracuse has collapsed a couple times and doesn't have anything in it now. Cost too much to keep repairing / inflating.
The information I sort of got wind of pertaining to the Headrush location, was that there could be some sort of rental type agreement done with the option to buy.
In these tough times, no one has the $1.2 which the building was originally mortgaged at. The most recent price I heard was between $500,000-700,000. This wasn't directly from Jacob or Ken, but word of mouth from a customer.
Everything inside is up to code. Nothing has been used in approx. 3 years. The track would have to be rebuilt and set up for BMX. Right now it is a MX track. The 10k sq. ft retail space could be used for a skate/bike park. It has concession and also a mechanics shop. The mechanics shop could be turned into retail.
I believe it could be a managable venture if the the price was around $500k. Being a non-profit organization, there would have to be grants available for something like that.
The NBL already offered both a national and regional for 5 years and a track rebuild every year.
Like D-mac mentioned in another post, this could be used as a training facility like the one in Cali, and maybe helped financially under that guideline.
Tom smith had an ex pro involved from NYC area that thought he had an inside line to some financial backers. But I think that has fallen through. Don't know exactly.
I think there is someone or company that would be inerested in a venture like this. We just have to find them. _________________ Bye for now,
