Starting this Friday, April 13 and on, we'll be rebuilding the track. Hubert Jackson and a big ol' front end loader, and other equipment, will be on site for a new improved Bonzai.
Come help. We'll be out there all weekend and know from past experience that no matter what else, it finally comes down to raking and shoveling to make the track what it needs to be for the forthcoming season. |

What do you guys have in mind for changes? I'll see if I can get out there.....I think I remember how to use a rake...

Help would be awesome.
We're going to try to change up the first turn so it's not it's current 190 degree turn and back to a bowled 180.
We're going to move turn three closer to the center with a longer rhythm section, and with kind of a dog-leg to get it back through the fence.
I'm speaking broadly 'cause it's really more Shawn's vision (but I am pulling for a six or eight-pack on the second straight -- that one we had back when was fun). |

After speaking with Shawn and checking the weather, we cancelled the 'build for this weekend. The problem is our track rebuilder won't be available until later in the year -- they're keeping him busy at other sites around the country and this was the only weekend we could get him.
Plan B, as it stands, is get a track tune-up in before the Purse weekend. We have plenty of dirt at least. |
