Subject: Update on the President's Volunteer Service Awards (PVSAs)
President's Volunteer Service Awards (PVSAs) are now available for 2009 service hours!
President Obama has signed a letter of recognition for those qualifying for a presidential service award. As a result, we are now fulfilling award requests for 2009 service hours. Thank you for your patience as we have managed through this time of transition. We look forward to fulfilling your requests especially as we celebrate National Volunteer Week.
The PVSA awards program recognizes volunteers for a sustained commitment to service (please see www.presidentialserviceawards.gov for details about becoming a certifying organization and honoring your volunteers). Awardees may receive a pin, a letter from the President, and a letter from the President's Council on Service and Civic Participation.
Please feel free to forward this e-mail and share with other volunteer organizations. If you have any questions, www.presidentialserviceawards.gov is your best resource.
