ATHENS CHANDLER TEACHER SUPPORT 2009

ABOUT US- ACTS is a homeschooling support group founded by Christian home educators located in Henderson County and encompassing the surrounding East Texas area. ACTS is committed to providing fun and interesting, social and informational opportunities for homeschooling parents and their children. If you have you been looking for a group that accepts you and your children no matter what your gifts and talents may be, then you have come to the right place. At ACTS it is what is on the inside that counts; not the clothes you wear, the curriculum you use or the church you attend.

ONLINE SUPPORT - We offer unparalleled fellowship and support through our forum. This is the primary function of our group. Through the ACTS Forum we stay connected to other Home-school families and keep up to date on any events in our community that may be of interest.

ACTIVITIES - MNO's, Field Trips, Parties, and Park Days as needed and planned by our members.

COST - ACTS is a no dues group. We instead rely upon the service of our group members as each is able to serve.

ATTENTION IMPORTANT UPDATE

Christine Westfall has stepped down as our event and membership coordinator. I, April Snider am staying behind as Forum Administrator and as which will probably handle membership too. We the active members of ACTS have decided that a new events coordinator is unnecessary. ACTS will still exist as exactly as the name describes us, a Teacher Support Group. Our function will be to support each other as home school parents and to network valuable educational opportunities in our community. When we do plan an event I will send out an email to all members. However, our primary form of communication will be on the ACTS Forum. If this is not something that serves your needs please feel free to request to be removed from the ACTS email list. If you are not currently using the ACTS Forum and wish to remain in ACTS you are missing out on a wonderful form of support. We share our successes, failures, hopes, prayer requests, recipes, advice and so much more there. Smoothing the Way is a support group dedicated to serving first-year homeschooling mothers. Each month a topic of specific interest to the new homeschooler is offered. Veteran homeschooling moms and guest speakers are available to inform and encourage those who have decided to take on the exciting, yet sometimes daunting, task of educating their own children.
