I just tried to log in (6:10 am) and got a message that they were performing daily maintenance and backups. Cripes, you'd think they'd have done that while they were fixing the bigger problem. Does the madness never end?? _________________ Government's definition of a citizen: Something that's got what it takes! |

| I just went and played a game. Movies. Friggin movies, something I never watch. I hadn't seen a single one of those movies so I just guessed for every answer. I got 5 out of 10 on pure guess. |

| Those hobby ones are pretty easy. Stuff about cars were a joke, especially the two Mustang questions. I just wish I had posted my answers a couple seconds sooner. Dammit! |

| We must have gotten different quizzes. Mine was hobbies but there were no Mustang questions on mine. |

| Huh. That's pretty stupid. Our scores then aren't really representative then, if we're getting different quizzes. |

Oh great. Here I was, basking in the glory of seeing my name on top, and now it's all for naught.
Did you have a question about pie crust? That was one I got wrong. |

No Mustang or pie questions on mine. I can't recall the specific questions, but I would have remembered those. Oh, there was a car question, but Audi was the answer. Someone figured out a few weeks ago that we're not all getting the same questions. _________________ Government's definition of a citizen: Something that's got what it takes! |

Each category has a pool of questions. You may get some questions the same, but mostly everyone has different questions. _________________ Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable: John F Kennedy |

If we mostly get different questions, what's the fun in assigning points and keeping score? Where's the relevance, nay the "fun", in saying "the smartest player today is _______"? Someone who scored 10 on their set of questions might have scored only 3 on mine and vice versa. Some of us take our trivia seriously!! _________________ Government's definition of a citizen: Something that's got what it takes! |

Well, I can tell you I got one today that was 80% guesses and I sure feel lucky to get 5 right. I have never heard of a "fusion" monster and definitely don't know what color it is, don't know what state has "bay state" written on a coin, and they gave me a correct answer that wasn't even one of the 4 options in the question.

From the Trivia FAQ's page:
Why do different players sometimes see different questions?
What ultimately happens if all players get identical questions each day is that someone sooner or later creates a second account, researches the answers, and then uses their first account to score 100% each and every day. Offering identical questions makes keeping score pointless.
Instead, we use an anti-cheating system that serves up trivia questions of similar difficulty level and topic to all tournament players each day. Over time all players answer the same questions, just not at the same time. This at least adds some integrity to the scoring process.
The trick would be to let the topic run its course until all participants have been exposed to all questions, no? Not sure whether that would take a week or a month, perhaps Largs is privy to this info. _________________

As long as it isn't @#%$# Movies! I've probably seen 5 movies from Hollywood in the last 10 years. It's not that I don't watch movies but the ones reviewed in magazines like Video Watchdog, Psychotronic, Videoscope, Shock Cinema or Cinema Sewer never seem to show up.
Now if we had categories for nuclear physics or quantum mechanics I'd kick your infidel butts. HAR HAR HAR. _________________ Witty signature ... coming soon ... |

Most categories have a 2000 question pool.
I usually wait a couple of days to change the category, and only if no one has played yet. _________________ Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable: John F Kennedy |

They research it There's one women that consistantly gets 10 every game. Makes sense now. But in all the trivia games, none of the questions are the same(the ones I play) _________________ The Trick Is That, You Never Play The Game Too Long |
