I'm reading "In A Sunburned Country" by Bill Bryson. It's all about his various trips to Australia. It's full of fun and intersting facts about Oz and the people and the aborigines and all the nasty and weird creatures that live there. I've learned more about Oz this week than I've learned in my entire life. He has a great writing style. If you've ever been curious about Down Under, I highly recommend it.

I was in Oz for about 10 days about a million years ago, and reading this book gives me a major hankering to go back again. Based on the book, you'd need a couple of months to even do it partial justice. It truly is a fascinating country, and we here in North America know so very little about it.

Man this board sure is flaky. I noticed a spelling mistake and tried to Edit my post and it doesn't seem to work in Internet Exploder or Firefox. I click Edit and nothing happens. And the stupid colour scheme thing STILL won't change to anything but this damn ugly black and grey thing.

Actually it's been awhile since I tried to change it.
I think things are running ok now so I will give it a shot.

I'm now seeing a blue/white scheme and I have blue/gold selected in the board style. It's better than that ugly black thing, but what's the point in having options in your profile if they don't even work? Have you tried to edit a post? Does it work for anybody else?

Okay, maybe I've been confused about how these colours work. I'm expecting the whole board to follow the scheme, but only the text is changing. Largs, you must be able to change the background colours (right now it's all blacks and greys) independently of what my text colours are, is that right? I picked the bluegold scheme in the profile and the text and headings are now bluegold.

Didn't the old board work differently? I thought everything changed when I changed the colour scheme in my profile, not just the text/headers.

In the old board I could download different  templates that where made by different people. In this one the templates are all pretty much the same style except for the colour scheme.
I have been having no trouble reading the text but I will try to find something that is a little easier on the eye for every one.

I don't know what the hell you're changing, but I sure find this white a lot easier to read than the black was.

Re In a Sunburned Country, excellent book.  Bryson is hilarious.  Another really good book of his is A Walk in the Woods, about hiking (or trying to hike) the Appalachian Trail.

I'll be adding him to my list of favourites, which means I'll be forced to get all his books and read them. He writes like you were sitting at a pub together and chatting.

For all you and I know, he may be writing from a pub!  He likes to make sure he samples the local brews.
