| I enjoyed that other book by Bill Bryson so much that I went looking for more of his titles. I'm reading "A Short History" right now. Basically, it's an attempt to take all the various sciences and wrap them all up in one book. It's damned fascinating. There's an interesting point on every single page. Geology, astronomy, molecular biology, physics, you name it, it's all here in one book. If you have any interest at all in science and the creation of the universe/planet/lifeforms you'll love this book. It'll get you to thinking. Get yer ass to your local library and check out this book! |

Bryson has a new one out called The Life and Times of the Thunderbolt Kid, which is about growing up in the Fifties in Iowa. Haven't read it yet myself, but I sense that it should be quite humorous.
Am also reading an old P. G. Wodehouse novel called Laughing Gas, quite aptly named since it's pretty much got me laughing out loud at high decibel levels with every turn of the page. _________________
