Anybody seen this movie with Nicholson, Matt Damon, Leonardo di Caprio, Alec Baldwin and Mark Wahlberg in it? Himself and I went to see it last night. Really liked it--it's the only the second movie I've ever seen di Caprio in that I felt he lived up to billing. He and Damon juxtapose nicely. _________________ "The past is a foreign country; they do things differently there." L. P. Hartley, The Go-Between |

MLW and I saw it the other day, and I agree, Leo finally impressed me. I have to admit the scene at the end with him and Matt in the old warehouse caught me unawares. Jack was a hoot.

Me too. I did expect Mark Wahlberg to resurface, though. He was one hilariously profane dude in this movie. _________________ "The past is a foreign country; they do things differently there." L. P. Hartley, The Go-Between |

Wahlbergs character was pretty intersting. I thought it was nice Martin Sheen could play a part slightly below deity status for a change. In the West Wing you guys had a president giving God a run for his money, as opposed to the real one who thinks he talks to him. The ending was fairly predictable, but it was an entertaining movie none the less.

Finally saw the movie, one of the best I've seen in a very long time. I had a problem with the accents though, sounded more Kennedy then anything else. My relatives from Boston sound way different, but you would need sub titles to understand them. _________________ 18-1...Looks good on them!!! |

Wahlberg was pretty authentic, since he grew up in Southie.
Hilarious commentary from my father-in-law. He and Himself's step-mother rented "The Departed" from Netflix and packed it in a quarter of the way through because the language was so foul. I said to him, "I think gangsters talk that way, D****." Then he said, "And those two blond guys, I just couldn't tell 'em apart!" And I said, "D****, I think that was intentional...."
I think he needs to stick to Fifties movies. _________________ "The past is a foreign country; they do things differently there." L. P. Hartley, The Go-Between |
