Okay, so I saw the movie.. There was some great acting, and I especially think the acting done by Baldwin, Pesci, and DeNiro was great, but Damon?s character was weak. He was not a lynchpin; rather, he was a morose anti-hero that no one felt anything for. The long list of actors is due to the utterly baffling number of characters who all seem to play variants of each other. After hour number two, you get tired of the backstabbing and deceit and want to see something else. It gets predictable, but on the whole, I think it was pretty good. It captured the essence of the 1940-1960s politic and really did give a perspective on the rise and fall of various government regimes. It was fascinating, and some of the acting is just stellar. I think the best aspect was the lack of bloodshed. Rather than spell out the plot through random acts of violence, it used wit and a story to keep you entertained. If you?re willing to pay close attention, it?s a good flick; but if you?re in the market for light or even easy, this is not it. _________________ I run a student organization..
