What is it? Why? Mine is Trainspotting. Of all of the British Cinema's achievements, this is, in my opinion, at the top of the heap. It is more realistic than Requiem For a Dream, and a lot more fun than traffic. It's got a fantastic dialogue and the best ensemble I've ever seen -- Johnny Lee Miller is fantastic as is Robert Carlyle and obviously Ewan McGregor as Renton. Simply terrific! _________________ I run a student organization.. You can call me El Presidente. |

For me, I would go with the Godfather. It was an absolute masterpiece. _________________ Strangers have the best candy. |

It's pretty hard to nail down just one movie.
A couple I always watch when they come on TV are Zulu with Michael Caine and, if it is the uncensored version, Mel Brookes Blazings Saddles.
The Godfather is also great movie. _________________ Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable: John F Kennedy |

American Grafitti (I am of that era, so I can associate with the cars, the music and the pranks) and Tombstone (Val Kilmer did an excellent job). _________________

I was involved in a working lunch a few years back and this one guy was being a total jack off and basically not letting anyone get a word in edgewise. He starts into a shower of shit about something I can't even remember, but it must have hit a sore spot because I muttered under my breath "You're way outta your fucking league Donnie", and the guy beside him spews his drink all over the jack.

2001: A Space Odyssey
The premise of the movie fascinates me. The special effects were jaw-dropping. For example, there was a scene where a shuttle is taking people to the moon, and you can see people moving in the windows (remember, it was 1968 and no computers and CGI). Who can forget the docking sequence with Strauss' Blue Danube playing?
And mostly because good sci-fi is so few and far between. |

Right now, mine is LOTR: Fellowship of the Ring, although it changes daily since I subscribed to Netflix. _________________

My wife and a girlfriend went to see the LOTR movies at the theatre and raved about them, so I bought her the movies on DVD. I just looked - they haven't been opened yet. We have a DVD player and I've never used it for anything other than playing CDs.

Many, many great movies but you can't beat Casablanca. _________________ "You can always count on the Americans to do the right thing - after they've tried everything else."
