What do computers, the Internet, viruses, the ancient kingdom of Sumeria, binary language and the Tower of Babel have in common?
Snow Crash, by Neal Stephenson. Written in 1992, but I just read it. Vaguely reminiscent of The Da Vinci Code in that it takes bible passages and anthropology and makes up a story.
In the 21st century, America excels at only four things:
Movies.
Music.
Software.
Delivering pizza in 30 minutes or less.
It's a bizarre future, but an interesting read. |
