Montréal has embarked in a project of gentrification the likes of have never been seen before.
New Highways
Rebuilding Metro stations/lines
widening roads
bike paths in downtown streets
new walking paths
rebuilding St. Laurent Blvd and De Maisonneuve
You think that sign is evil? Drive from Décarie Blvd, in the NDG district to St. Denis blvd, and back. It would drive a sane man wild. East-West blvds are either shut down, or completely blocked. Sherbrooke St (main East-West road) is completely inundated with cars because of overflow from DeMainsonneuve rebuild..
HOWEVER-- because of the rerouted traffic, in the last two days I've seen
Aston Martin DB-9
Aston Martin Vanquish (my favorite car of all time)
Ferrari 360
Ferrari 430
Lamborghini Murcielago
Lotus Elise
Maybach 57
Rolls Royce Phantom
as well as a whole host of Bentleys, Porsche 911s, Dodge Vipers and even a Charger _________________ I run a student organization.. You can call me El Presidente. |

| Every time I go to Calgary and drive the Deerfoot 500, I'm always noticing high-end cars like that. Up here in Sleepy Hollow, you're more likely to see the newest Hummer or the latest gimmick for making your truck as ugly and gaudy as possible. |

I see all kinds of expensive machinery here like ferraris, porsches, bmws, Mercedes et al. I live on a friggin island!!! There is absolutely no open road. If it isn't bumper to bumper traffic then you're either behind a tourist or a Hawaiian roadblock. Some people pay a wicked amount of money just to look good at a stoplight. _________________ 18-1...Looks good on them!!! |

I was on Deerfoot trail in Calgary, and people drive ALOT slower there than they do down small side streets in Montréal. Calgary has big wide roads and speed limits that people follow. _________________ I run a student organization.. You can call me El Presidente. |

People drive fast in Montreal to get off the roads, lest any more collapse. _________________ Government's definition of a citizen: Something that's got what it takes! |
