In case anyone's thinking that all Canadian MDs go south never to return home, I just got a letter from my son's neuro-opthamologist at the University of Wisconsin telling me that he is returning to his native Canada, so #1 son's going to have to find another sawbones.
Now, this guy was pretty well-compensated and highly thought of here, so I have to think somebody north of the 49th decided to pay him what the good doctor thought he was worth. Things can't be too bad. _________________

MW,
I would be 100 dollars that he went to Ontario/BC/AB. They have begun massive wage increases recently, in which Toronto surgeons are now pulling in well into the 400s, and in BC with the growth of the private sector, doctors are really raking it in. Québec is still a big place for plastic surgery-- McGill has famous reconstructive surgeons, who even back in the 1980s were earning 700K because of private billing. _________________ I run a student organization.. Well, whichever, they're in luck. I was impressed by him in clinic, and I'm a tough audience. _________________
