Have any of you guys played with this yet? If you haven't, you have to install it. If you have a reasonably new computer (3-4 years old) and a broadband internet connection (sorry Gator!), you can travel the world from your desktop.
You install the program (it's an 11 mb download), then point and click your way around the planet. Depending on where you're looking, you can zoom in to incredible detail. I found our house and could see the two tables on the patio. Or you can pull up places from their list. Go have a look at the Vatican. Nelson's Statue in London. The Olympic Games site in Sydney. Go have a look at the Parliament buildings and surrounds.
Zoom in and out, pan, tilt, rotate, turn roads on/off, locate pizza joints, schools, churches, it's a hoot. You're gonna get hooked, I'm warning you. Oh, yeah, make sure you have a look at the Legal thing that comes up. You're warned not to use this for operating nuclear missiles, aircraft carriers, etc (or something incredibly legal-weird like that).

That is a pretty awesome sight. I found my place and my car parked outside. The Canadian locations didn't seem to be as clear as the American ones. _________________ 18-1...Looks good on them!!! |

Go to a place like Manhattan and turn on the Buildings. There's much more detail for the U.S. than most anywhere else, but that's no surprise. |

Thanks Nomad, I saw your post earlier but kept putting off the download and eventually forgot about it. Today I took a few moments to install it, and it really is amazing. _________________
