· Quote

For your employees to remain focused on their work and become happy and inspired while working, always provide them with incentives. In this way, they can keep up their good work. Here are some tips on how to encourage your employees to efficiently work and stay in your cleaning service.

One way to do so is to provide them with cash incentives. You can give away gift checks to food chains or to stores like Target and Walmart among others. Give them a particular day in the week where they can have their day off or you can give them a number of days in a month where they can spend their days off regularly. Make your employees feel that by inviting more new clients and by ensuring that all your clients stay complaint- free, they benefit as well with your business growth and your company will eventually have a harmonious relationship as a result. The growth and expansion of your business must reflect on the salaries of your clients as well. Give them raises, new equipment or the likes just for you to see some proofs your company is on the right track. You can also hold “company parties” or a vacation over the weekend every time your business meets your quota or after a time when your business remains complaint- free. Do it regularly and you’ll see more happy faces not just to your workforce but also to your clients.

Give them a card which shows that they gave an excellent performance when your business receives positive feedback. Or you can also attach a gift check with a $10 amount for a positive phone call that came in. You can give your employees business cards which they can distribute to passers- by or to neighbours because every time your employee gives your business new referrals, you can give them a generous bonus. If the customer keeps on coming back, the employee can receive as much as $100.

If you haven’t tried any of the suggestions above, better try them now.

Things to remember when planning to hire new employees

• In hiring a potential new employee, trust your gut feel. Don’t hire someone if you’re having second thoughts about it. However, this does not mean that you should immediately trust the new employee. He or she still has to earn your trust over time.

• Do not hire someone who has plans of setting up an own business after working for you. This can eventually cause potential trouble in the future.

Hiring efficient employees for your cleaning business can be difficult. Even after getting the right employees, you have to make it clear to them what your expectations from them are. Train them how to do their jobs properly and correctly. Equip them with the right tools so they can efficiently do their jobs. Lastly, always give them feedbacks. Whether the feedback is positive or negative, be it a thank- you or a constructive criticism, say it anyway.
