My dear Family and Friends,
God is Good! All the time! This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad!!
Today, the Lord heard all our prayers. Our intercessors in heaven (our favorite Saints and the Blessed Mother) must have worked really hard. Today, the Grand Jury decided not to go to trial. I was on the witness stand for about an hour and a half with the prosecutor, as well as members of the Grand Jury, questioning me. After they deliberated for about 45 minutes the prosecutor came to the conference room were I was with my lawyer and said: "You can go. No bill." I did not understand what she meant so I looked at my lawyer who also said: "No bill?" And the prosecutor said: "Yes, no bill." At which point my lawyer turned to me and said: "It's over. No case." and he gave me a hug and said: "Can I give you a kiss?" To which I said: "You're Italian, you're allowed." The joy I felt could not be described. All I said was: Thank You, Lord! Thank you, Mama Mary!
Prior to going in the courtroom I was praying the rosary. After my testimony, I finished my rosary and said my novena to Our Lady of Guadalupe. After I finished the novena, I started my Novena to the Divine Mercy. I was in the middle of the Chaplet of Divine Mercy when the prosecutor came to the conference room. It was 2:54pm... very close to the Mercy Hour! Our Lord of Mercy was with me the whole time and so was Our Lady of Mercy (Our Lady of Guadalupe). I had packed with me a small picture frame of Our Lady of Guadalupe and placed it in my leather envelope with the documents I needed for the testimony. Unbeknownst to me, when I took one of the documents to show the prosecutor and the jury, the frame slipped out of the envelope and was right on the desk the whole time I was testifying. I only saw her towards the end of the session. It was at that point that I knew everything would be fine. Our Lady of Guadalupe was the first to answer my prayer on October 25th when I got the picture frame and the words: " I am your Merciful Mother. I hear your weeping and your sadness. You are under my protection and my mantle." All through this ordeal, she had been with me. I carried her with me where ever I went. I said the novena to her everyday. A priest-friend's sister gave me her statue when I visited them, not knowing I have a devotion to Our Lady of Guadalupe! Today, in court, she made her appearance! She truly is my Merciful Mother!
I have so much to share but today, I just want to give praise and thanks to God for His graciousness. I want to thank all of you as well for being a source of strength -- your love and prayers and support have kept me up. It was your love and prayers that have lifted me up. From the bottom of my heart, my family and I would like to thank you for all you have been for me. I wouldn't be where I am today had it not been for all of you! God Bless you always and may Jesus and His Mother hold you close to their merciful hearts!
Love you all!
Ever grateful,
Fr. Ed
