Subject: 2008 Texas State/Church Separation Rally plans

Friends,

Howdy! Remember me? I'm Joe Zamecki, Texas State Director for American Atheists, and I live in Austin, Texas.

It's that time again! I'm now putting together preliminary plans for another Texas State/Church Separation Rally here in Austin. Now it needs to be in either April or May, after the AA convention, but before the Summer begins. I'm not sure of the dates for the legislative session, so if anyone has that info, please let me know.

The National Day of Prayer is in early May, but it's always on a weekday. I think all state/church rallies should take place on a Saturday, to be easiest to attend for the most people. Does anyone have ideas in mind for which Saturday in those two months?

I'd also like to make this a larger, busier event. We have more time for preparation, four times as much time as we did last year, and we've met a lot of other Texas Freethinkers since then. I'm thinking expanded live music, (interested musicians of any genre, please contact me!) maybe a petition drive, and this time, definitely a blood donation van. I need more ideas like those.

Who wants to help? Everything helps, by the way. Questions, comments, complaints, contacts, advertising, word of mouth, pizza ...anything. Please let me know your thoughts. Also, anyone interested in speaking or performing, please contact me about that. In fact, any military Atheists, campus Atheist group leaders, and leaders of NEW Freethought groups, please contact me. And as well, anyone else. Please contact me about this event. Surprised)

Thanks!
Joe Zamecki

Awsome. The one last year was a lotta fun. Met some interesting people and got to check out the capitol building.

I look forward to it! Smile
