Here's a link; http://www.gbos.org.uk/index.php/Overprint_Postal_Orders .

Click on the links within that link to see some photos.

Postal orders are the close cousin of banknotes.

Steve,I am hoping to educate the new collectors, especially Americans, about what postal orders are,how they have been used,& how they relate to numismatics.

To me,they are like banknotes,as they were used as currency during the 2nd. Boer War in the Orange Free State & the South African Republic,& in Great Britain during both World Wars.

I don't understand why this topic was transferred into the 'Open' section,as it is not advertising to buy or sell postal orders.

Aidan.

Perhaps they thought of your post as an advertisement for the site your link is too.
I just recently read an article about postal orders and how they were used as currency here during emergencies. Very interesting stuff.

Steve, once I get in that banknote & coin inventory software from Canada,I will be putting my postal orders on there as well,as,to me,they are like banknotes.I hope that you can link from it to a forum.
