Does anyone know of a good site with British Penny values. Particularly early 1800s to mid 1900s.
I got quite a few in with a batch of US coins and was curious of any value to them.

I've got a Coincraft catalogue, but it's a 1995 issue so the prices are probably way off.  I have it more as a reference for British coinage.

Most of what I ended up with looks similar to these. I don't have any information or knowledge about these at all. I listed the names on the photos the best I could according to what I could see on the coins.

I'll check my catalogue tonight and see if I can get at least some info for you.  Post up the dates/mintmarks you have and I'll do the best I can.

I have the necessary Standard Catalogs to give you prices, but it will be a week until I have access to my library.  If no one has answered your question by then, I´ll give it a shot.

Please note - all prices are from 12 years ago, and expressed in pound sterling, but use this as a guide for which ones are worth more than the others.  Most of these are only really worth money in VF or higher, and the more recent ones really need to be EF to be worth a lot.  Take this info with a grain of salt.

Pennies:
1826 George IV (There are 3 different reverses), values range from 10-12£ in F, 20-30£ in VF and 60-100£ in EF

1841 Victoria (2 varieties, on with a colon after REG, the other without), values 5-10£ in F, 10-25£ in VF and 45-100£ in EF

1871 Victoria, values (as above) 25/80/280£ (this is a semi-key date)

1874H Victoria       8/22/75£
1875 Victoria         4/10/35£
1898 Victoria         2/6/15£
1899 Victoria         2/5/10£
1904 Edward VII    7£ in VF, 15£ in EF
1906 Edward VII    (values as above), 6/11£
1907 Edward VII    6/11£
1910 Edward VII    5/10£
1912 Edward VII    6/10£ (for no mintmark, H mintmark is more)
1914 George V       6/12£
1915 George V       6/12£
1918 George V       6/10£ (H or KN mintmarks more)
1919 George V       6/10£ (H or KN mintmarks more)
1920 George V       6/10£
1921 George V       6/10£
1928 George V       4/7£
1929 George V       4/8£
1930 George V       4/8£
1934 George V       4/14£
1936 George V       3/5£
1937 George VI      1/3£
1938 George VI      1/3£
1939 George VI      1/4£
1940 George VI      1/4£
1944 George VI      1/4£
1945 George VI      1/3£
1946 George VI      1/3£
1965 Elizabeth II    (no value listed except in UNC - 1£)
1966 Elizabeth II    (no value listed except in UNC - 1£)
1967 Elizabeth II    (no value listed except in UNC - 1£)

Half pennies:
1906 Edward VII            VF - 5£, EF - 14£
1914 George V              (grades as above) 3/7£
1915 George V              3/7£
1919 George V              3/7£
1920 George V              3/7£
1923 George V              3/8£
1927 George V              2/5£
1929 George V              2/4£
1930 George V              2/4£
1933 George V              2/4£

Florin:
1921 George V      F - 3£, VF - 10£, EF - 25£

Hope that gives you a (very) rough idea.

Nice batch of coins, though.

Thanks Topher, that was quick. That will give me somewhat of an idea more than I had before.

Steven,

I just got an updated (2005) price list today.  I'll go back through and see how much they've changed for you.  Give me a day or two, though.

I'll do you one better.  The book I got is also available online.  (Thank goodness I didn't pay for the book, or I wouldn't have been happy!)
