I have taken this information from another forum but added some additional info.

Quarters:
Anything before 1965

Dimes:
Anything before 1965
1949 S
1982 (no mint mark)

Nickels:
Anything before 1938
1938
1939 D and S
Some 1942
1943-1945
1968 - 1970 S Proofs
1950D
Mintages of under 20 million: 1938, 1938D, 1938S, 1939D, 1939S, 1942D (non-silver), 1943D (silver), 1944S (silver), 1946S, 1948S, 1949S, 1950, 1950D, 1951S, 1955, 1958

I'd say hang on to anything from before 1960.

Pennies:
Anything before 1959
1926
1960 (any mint)
1960P & D Small date
1970S Small Date (all digits are aligned at top)
Double Dies: 1969S, 1970S Large Date, 1972, 1983, 1984, 1995
Odd spacing b/t A and M of America: 1998, 1999, 2000
1968-1974 S Proofs
1968-S has the lowest mintage of all circulating memorials.

Halves:
Anything pre 1971 (Silver)
1965-1970 (40% Silver)
Pre 1965 (90% Silver)
1987P and D (Mint sets only)
Anything with an S mintmark, proof coins are normally worth more than face value.

If i missed something please let me know as i can edit it.

Your welcome. Thought it was important for now, and thought people might want to read it to know what to look for.

I would add this to lincoln cent hunting - 1968-S.  It has the lowest mintage of the circulating memorial type.  I keep all AU and above for this coin, surprisingly there is at least one in every box (I search on the West Coast).
