Well I thought I would have something to post photos with by now so I could show this item, but just one word Woman. They always have something to wast you money on, like the window the storm took out or heat for the house, so I will try and describe this as best as I can.
I have coin like or maybe token would be a better word. It is made of some sort of man made stuff sort of like real hard card board. It is about 5/8 of an inch, or 15mm in diameter, a little smaller than a dime. On one side it has a large #1 in the center, around the edge it say's (A&P FOOD STORES) . On the other side in the center it has (Food STAMP PLANE) then around the edge is has( U.S. DEPT. Of AGRI.) There is no date on it any where but I know it is at least over 50 years old. My dad used to show it to me when I was a kid. I would like any help you guy could give me on this.

David:
The A&P tokens are fairly common.
They were used during the war for meats, eggs etc.
These were considered to be 'allocated' items.
(I forge the exact word, but the goods were limited, like cigarettes.).
