Before I showed some nuggets, here is some gold straight from the initial deposit.  Well, yes and no, the primary deposit is a paleoplacer, that is an ancient stream deposit of gold that has been buried, in this case for about 2 billion years, chemically remobilized, and redistributed.  Thus the gold leaf shape, which forms when the gold is forced to precipitate along a thin fracture in the host rock (now broken away).

Just how much gold is that and mostly did you get to keep it? Makes you run out and dig up the back yard. That is really nice.

Or clean up Phoenix's room!  LOL  Who knows what else is hiding in there!  So far we've found several coins (some of them foreign!) 206 million dollars, a dead body or two, and now gold!

It isn't that much, less than an ounce, its value is more as a mineral specimen.  I have a few pieces, but all contain much smaller gold leaves than this.  Most I acquired during trips to different gold mines, this one came from where I worked a number of years ago.
