|
|
Hi, I recently purchased an 1886 p Morgan that seems to have a cud, die gouge or chip on the upper lip. I was wondering if anybody has seen this type of error before and what this would do to the value of the coin. I did try a few VAM books but it is not listed. This is the first time I have seen kind of error right on the lip of an 86 Morgan however I have seen this on a peace dollar. I have tried to post an image with the area circled.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Jeff

Welcome to the forum, and I have not seen this particular variety before.
Have you checked the VAM book?
Van Allen Mallis book? |

Thanks for the welcome. This is an excellent site.
I haven't checked the Van Allen Mallis book but have been to web sites that list VAMs by date and hadn't seen anything. I will have to take my book out of storage and see if anything is listed. |
