· Quote

I was smoking 2 packs of Cig's a day costing me just over $5.00 a day. Not had a cigarette now in 29 days. I told the wife I was going to write myself a check every Month and put it into the credit union. My reward for stop smoking is first year $1825.00. That is what I was blowing up in smoke. This amount of money will help purchase the remaining Peace dollars I need and will put a big bite in completing my walkers. Oh, by the way, I had smoked for over 30 years and quit "COLD TURKEY" No patches, no Gum,  Very Happy  daffy

Hey congratulations! I smoked from around age 11 to 23 (last year) and I quit cold turkey too. Its really the only way to go in my opinion. No gum or patches, you just have to really want to quit.

Hey Adam, after you quit, how long was it before you stopped wanting one?? 41 days and last night I really wanted one. Have not had the urge today.

For me, after 3 or 4 weeks I didn't think about it much. But even after about 9 r 10 months, I still get a pretty strong craving once or twice a month. Stay strong though, and you'll learn to deal with it without much of a problem.

I'm working on 60 days now. The urge has gone away and the smell of cig. smoke I now find sort of offensive.  Very Happy  daffy

Congrats. I don't know the exact date I quit. I wrote it down somewhere, but I can't find the peice of paper. I'm pretty sure sometime in May is a year for me. Stay strong brother Smile
