I'm a huge Cardinals fan. Season started yesterday. The Cards were winning 5-1, and Pujols had hit a home run, but the game got rained out in the 3rd inning so none of it counts Crying or Very sad  darnit.
Any other fans? Whats your team?

Well Adam, you've got great taste in teams!  Smile  My Dad grew up about an hour south of St. Louis, so I grew up a Cards fan thanks to him.  I just don't know if the pitching rotation will keep the Cards even close this year.  Once they get back some key starters (Clement, Mulder, Carpenter), it will be better, but until then, it could be a bit scary.  At least Lohse pitched a good game last night.  too bad Kip Wells waited until he returned to St. Louis as an opponent to pitch a good game.  Sad

Yeah, the pitching is a concern. The offense is going to need to be good if the Cards are going to compete. They looked good Monday, before the game got rained out:(
I think Pujols will be as good as ever. Ankiel and Duncan will probably be important offensive contributors. And I think Molina is going to have his best offensive year ever. Not only did he homer last night, but he looked good in spring training too. I guess we'll just have to wait and see if pitchers can keep games close enough to give the rest of the team a chance to win.

Ok, theres my rambling for the day:)

The patchwork rotation is certainly holding their own, which bodes well seeing as how they've got four starters due back at various times through the first half of the year.

Yep. They got a much better start to the season than anyone expected. Last night didn't go so well. But in the end it was just blown by one of the new releivers. Stuff like that just happens sometimes...

I enjoy College Baseball, Football & Basketball. No thanks, I am not a Proffessional sports fan.  Something is wrong with our proffessional sports picture. You have one ball player making more money than an entire team.  They are not getting my cash!

I can respest that opinion, and I understand your point. I completely 100 percent avoid PRO basketball, because I think it is the worst of all sports in terms of commerciallization (sp? is that a word? lol)
The NBA is just like a big money-fuled exposition to me, the really seems to be no "sport" to it. Baseball and football, although highly commerciallized, I personally still find to be fun, competitive and entertaining.

Being an hour and a half west of St. Louis, I was kinda wondering that too.

My dad grew up in Flat River and later Desloge.  My grandfather was a supervisor of the mines in that area and apparently well-known in the mining industry.
