THE STORY:
It is George Grieves forthwith birthday, and he had celebrated with his friends, family and wife. A day after, he was schedule to do a routine colonoscopy in a hospital.
Unfortunately, the hospital made a terrible mistake. The doctor had mixed up the names (between George Grieves and another man that has a similar last name Grives). Instead of getting a routine colonoscopy George Grieves got the theoracoscopic sympathectomy instead. Then his worst fear came alive (in his mind through his journey to death).

Review:
The cover looked like it had to be a horror movie. But is NOT. It is slow, and just another drama with a twist to it. This is a movie about a middle age man named Grieves who was forced to come to his terms and his worst fear before death (in his coma). The whole movie is basically George’s flashback from his 40th birthday while he was still in a coma. Also throughout the movie, his fear about other race, his desire, and his contradictions became real in his mind. It's almost like death is forcing him to let go and not be conservative (as he is or was).
To be honest, I rented it because it looked interesting and I thought it was a horror film (judging by the description on the back cover, boy, was it misleading).  I HATE movie that is about someone's dream and  that it really didn't happen to the person.

WHAT'S GOOD ABOUT THIS FLIM?
It has its gruesome moments, like when his leg were amputated, or the time where Mandingo were torturing him.

SOME OF GEORGE GRIEVES’  ISSUE IN THIS FLIM:
In this movie, the only African American man was the derange doctor in the hospital he was in. He always feared the African American population. Probably because of the way he was raised and he stereotypical people according to the media and so on.  Anyways the doctor that he was fear of  was named “Mandingo”; which was in reference to  a movie that was made in 1975 and it was about a slave owner in the 1800s trying to train one of his fellow slaves to be a  knuckle fighter. George was also afraid of another doctor, who was supposedly from Arab or something. So he definitely has a racist issue; also he was afraid of the supernatural…….
OK, I won't give away all the meaning, fun and gore in the movie. If you like films like "Jacob's Ladder", "Donnie Darko", "Session 9" and other psychological films. You would probably like this one.
