You can find it here.  It's track 8 of the album "Hymn of Grace"

Really, it's beautiful, but my favourite of her songs is Tsubasa wo Kudasai, since it's based on an older song, but in english.

Trivially, she studied music in the same city I'm moving to study in this month  Very Happy

Wow. What city?
That is a beautiful song by the way.

Her profile says she studied at the Queensland college of music, so I'm assuming they meant the Qld Conservatorium in Brisbane.  The theatre there is really something to see since when it was built it was acoustically unparalleled in the southern hemisphere.  I was lucky enough to get accepted into an ensemble program there last year and it was an amazing experience.

You should join some sort of string group.  Playing with other people is really fun and there are many ensembles at different levels  ^.^
What made you choose the cello by the way?

Hmmm...I guess just hearing someone play it made me fall in love with it a while back. It made me want to learn it. Same with the oboe. :] I'm in a group with my oboe and I'm joining the string ensemble at my School next year.
You're lucky you're going to study there. :]

I'm not sure whether I should watch Bleach or not. I've heard mixed opinions from my friends. One of them says it's really good, another says it's okay, and yet another says don't watch it, it sucks, it's overrated.

I heard that the fillers are more meaningful than Naruto fillers - like they serve as side stories that, while they do not forward the plot, act as useful supplements to the main story. whereas Naruto fillers are just pointless and have horrible plot ideas.

Shocked You play the oboe!?  Shocked That's awesome.  The sound is very nice, but seems difficult to produce - so much pressure is required!  Is there a particular song that made you fall in love with the instruments or just the timbre?

On another note, I'm not going to study at the conservatorium, heheh.  Their level is elite, think of it as Tsukimori or Tsuchiura level playing to even be considered in the audition v.v   Rolling Eyes such is life I suppose

It depends on personal preference I suppose.  I quite enjoyed it, so perhaps you should give it a shot, and if you don't like it, you don't have to keep watching ^.^  Although the Bount filler arc... compared with the rest of the series, left much to be desired.  Still, I think it's worth a look.

I feel kind of odd saying this, but watching La Corda sort of made me miss piano and viola a lot. I mean, I quit lessons for piano years ago and put my viola lessons on hiatus. Even though I still play viola in school orchestra and a youth ensemble, I feel like I should pick it up again in a more serious capacity. And maybe piano too.

I was originally going to minor in creative writing in college (major being something science-y) but now I'm tempted to try to stick either music on my major or minor later (I stopped both at around intermediate/advancing level, which is kind of a pity).

Sigh, La Corda is probably the first anime I want to rewatch. It's funny how nostalgic it makes me...seeing Tsukimori play that well and Hino persevering is kind of inspiring to some degree? Makes me wonder why I ditched my instruments to pursue vocal music (don't get me wrong, I love singing too but I should have kept on playing as well Razz)

If I could give any advice it would be to choose whatever you think you'd enjoy/ be interested in for a while.  It would be troublesome to lose interest half-way through a course and it makes the work a lot harder.  That being said though, it's always possible to change courses and subjects (depending on the state's education system) But yeah, bear in mind what you would enjoy doing and what it would lead to.

My parents would never had approved if I let them know I wanted to do music, then again, getting employment in music would be difficult, and there's the low wages.  But not doing music in college doesn't mean you have to quit playing the instrument.  Harrass *ahem* contact local groups and it's possible to build up a musical resume that way.  It helps when trying to get into upper level ensembles later on.  Laughing

well, the professional school does not have to be determined by the major. my friend majored in visual arts (drawing/painting) and she's in dental school now. likewise, I may plan to major in music but still go to medical school.

I will probably never make a career out of music, but it'll be my foremost hobby Razz

And partially the reason I stopped playing viola was due to academic stress (college apps, AP courses, etc.).

The whole story is, I stopped playing piano before middle school (after finishing up to CM level 7) because my parents only cared about how I should always get better technically and it got to the point where I didn't actually enjoy the music anymore. I started viola after a year of playing no instrument at all, and stuck with it.

The reason I started singing in the recent 2 years is because I always love exploring new things and such. Also, I don't take vocal lessons or anything and I don't want to offend anyone here that takes singing very seriously, but it was just a "side" thing - I didn't spend as much time as did with instrumental music.

Ultimately, I still love viola and piano the most.

Lol. That's a pretty high level just for an audition. Think of what it would be like on a daily basis. O:

I love the oboe. My friend plays oboe too and she's the second best person in the country. It's amazing...
As to a song...I don't know the name of the song but my friend [oboe player] played some stuff for me and I fell in love with it that way...and the cello..I think I would have to say Cello Concerto is what made me fall in love with it. :] very pretty.

well, it depends. some institutions ask you to extend your ability for the audition. meaning, they make it extremely hard to get in, but once you do it's a little easier, then you study and work up to a higher level.

by the way, does anybody here know where to find the sheet music for "Tzigane"? (Tsukimori's 3rd selection piece). I'm not good enough to play it yet but I want to take a look at it. I found the short version but I haven't been able to find the full one yet...

I'm sorry, Froomball, but I can't seem to find any free downloads for the sheet music to 'Tzigane'. However, if you're able to pay a little over $2, I found this site that'll let you download it
http://everynote.com/violin.show/3854.note
If I happen to stumble across a free download for it I'll keep you posted, ok? ^_^
