((Heh, heh. I'm kinda like that too at times, but I can get hyper even without sugar. No wonder my friends think I'm all energetic. ^^; Sorry for the uber short response; I couldn't think of anything else. XP))
Even though Ruika did grow up in a wealthy family, at times like this, it didn't seem like she was. As she finished her ice cream, she was still in a cheerful mood, but she was bored now, so she ended up sighing. She heard Mizuki's comment about how she thought that the coucours were boring. It kind of reminded of her of the various competitions that she particpated in when she was younger.
The last one was around a year ago, but it was a bit different than what she was used to as it was a group competion, which she wasn't fond of; she preferred playing alone unless someone could match her. By what Alexei and Mizuki had said, the concours seemed like the ones she was used to, playing alone with an accompanist. Unless the piece really didn't require one, she'd most likely need one.
"Hm~. Well, guess it couldn't be any worse as those other competitions I've been in. So, nothing to worry about. Anyway... is there anything for us to talk about?" _________________ "For me, as long as you're saying it, it doesn't matter how slowly you say it, I'll still listen. If you can't talk over the phone, then I'll come to see you, just like this. I'm not a dolphin. You're also not a dolphin. If you want to walk, no matter how slowly it'll be, I'll walk with you."
"Right now, I might not be that reliable. One day, maybe I'll be able to help. Things can't be the same as they were before, but there's this kind of feeling that's linking us together. I don't think we're living in different worlds."

OOC: lol, I get hyper easily too but when I multi-task, I can’t get hyper, I just get tired and sleepy. X_X Anyway, the piano is very important during the concours, now we all need to search for a pianist since our instruments can’t play a song nicely when it’s alone. -_- I’m also out of ideas. Umm…can we start the concours now? XD
Haruka attempted to ignore her and took a bite out of her ice cream cone. Then her thoughts went back to Ruika’s insults so she couldn’t help but blurt something out in return, “Sure, we can talk about how you’re going to lose to me in the concours.”
The concours is very important to her so she was already planning to how make time for as much practicing as possible when it finally arrives. She could stay up early in the morning trying to finish her homework after hours of practicing, that would work but she’d lose many hours of sleep and she couldn’t afford that so maybe it didn’t work.
She sighed and took another bite out of her ice cream cone.
OOC: I wrote the least, I win! XDD _________________ ~Rella~ |

((There are some songs that sound strange with an accompaniment. I think I have a few of those. Many of Paganini's other Caprices don't need, or rather don't sound as well with a piano beside it. I heard a few with the piano and I didn't like them. But, in general, songs sound fine with a piano. Anyway, I guess we can start that tomorrow or whatever, when we end this part properly.))
Ruika sighed as she leaned her chin into her left hand. ((A/N: Did that part make any sense? I hate describing that position. XD)) "Like I said, you really do have too much confidence. No wonder you're blind, not literally of course. I really won't consider you at my level, even somewhat, unless that changes. Geez, you really are like those people that I knew at that music academy. It's no wonder why my 'serious mode' got even worse, or at least my darkest part of it, while I was there." Ruika said all this pretty bluntly and tiredly.
"If you think I'm just all talk, go ahead and think that. But, I'm just telling ya the truth," Ruika got up from the table. "and trust me, you'll never have a chance against me unless you change. Forcing yourself to change will just make it worse. I'm going home now, so I'll see you all at school, and Alex, I'll see you at home later."
Before leaving, she had something to say to Mizuki. "Thanks, Mizuki-san for taking us here and sorry that I kinda snapped at you earlier, but don't think this means that we're friends just yet. It's going to take me a while before I can truly believe you. If you think about it, about what I said, you might have an idea why."
Alexei and Takuya decided to left a little while after Ruika left as they had to go perform at Takuya's father's club. Before leaving, they both thanked Mizuki for taking them there and Alexei had one more thing to say.
"Haruka-san? Ruika really isn't kidding about what she said and it's not out of her ego either. I have to agree with her, as much as I rather not, but I do. Oh, for a late intro, name's Alexei, but call me Alex for short and the guy next to me is Takuya," he turned to Mizuki, "As for you, you probably already know own names. We'll see you guys later." With that, both Alexei and Takuya left, carrying their instruments with them and headed towards Takuya's father's club. _________________ "For me, as long as you're saying it, it doesn't matter how slowly you say it, I'll still listen. Mizuki raised an eyebrow and said to Haruka-chan after everyone had left, "I personally think she's the one who's too confident. Even if she's got the place to be confident, it makes me feel like I suck at everything, the way she talks. And I don't know if I should be offended that she doesn't 'trust' me." Shrugging Mizuki stood up and threw her plastic spoon at the back of Morino's head, "Anyhow," She said with a smile, "I'll see you tomorrow, or something- I'd better go lecture Kei-chan, before he starts to think that doing those things is okay."
'To be honest, I don't really mind Novikov-senpai now. But the way she talks down to Asazaki-senpai... I can't stand that. She talks to her like she's not that great, when I'm not even as good as Asazaki-senpai. And her cousin seems like her shadow. Backing up everything she's saying, telling us this and that- when we didn't even ask...' Mizuki sighed and sat down in the taxi she'd hailed, 'Oh well. Maybe she'll get better once she decides she's not too good for us. I can't believe she was so unaffected by what Onii-san said. Considering a lot of it applied to her in the first place.'
"Step on it." Mizuki said with a sigh to the taxi driver, whoi grumbled and sped up. Screeching to a halt in front of the second mansion in which all the 'children' or 'second-hand' people in the family lived, Mizuki stepped out and saw Kei sitting with a bored expression on the stone railing that lined the cobblestone steps and driveway.
"Kei-chan!" Mizuki chirped, waggling her finger at him, "You were very very mean to Ruika-chan today! Be sure to apologize tomorrow!"
He sighed and rolled his eyes, "She deserved it. I don't know why, but, I don't like the kind of person she is. Not just that she... always wins..." He muttered the last phrase with a good load of bitterness, but continued normally, "But she's too analytical. Feeling? Emotion? It's just a matter of skill and talent. You can't convey your feelings through music. It's not possible in reality."
"You, Onii-san" Mizuki pointed at Kei with a smirk, "are a hypocrite."
"You." Kei pointed at Mizuki, not amused, "Are a master of deception. Why should I listen to you?"
"Ah, so, if I'm a master of deception, am I unintentionally decieving you in the fact that I seem interested in anything you have to say?" Mizuki waved a polishing cloth in Kei's face, "Don't be presumptious. I win."
"Witch." Kei muttered following Mizuki indoors.
"Don't forget to say you're sorry Kei-chan!"

"Hey, Seiji! You think you'll get into the concur's?" Mokoto ran up to me, as I walked slowly towards class.
"Ah," I smiled, "I don't think so- My arms are getting a little stiffer, and sometimes I can't reach the bottom or top key's without scooching around in my seat," I tossed my bag over my shoulder, "Somebody like that can't get into the concur's!"
"But you signed up didn't you?" Mokoto nudged me in the ribs and I resisted the urge to flinch, "Goes to show that you're still hopeful, right?"
"You signed up didn't you?" I replied, smirking just as slyly, "And you have the worst grades in class 2-C!"
Mokoto flushed and stammered, "T-There's always hope!"
"Apparently!" I joked and escaped into my classroom before Mokoto could get at me. Sitting down in my spot that was right next to the far-side windows, and waited for the day to begin like any other- save for the slight discontent of my stomach, hoping that I'd hear my name amongst the ones that would be called over the PA system today. _________________

Another day, another new thing? Well, the names of the people who were going to participate in the concours this year were going to be announced today. Alexei was standing by the window with his back leaning towards it and was talking to one of his other good friends, Ryu, who was sitting on his desk.
"Hey, Alex? You think you're gonna get chosen for the concours?"
"Um, Ryu, why would I? I mean I signed up only because Kuya wouldn't stop bothering me about it and no. I've never liked these kinds of things and it has nothing to do with Ruika. She didn't seemed that thrilled to sign up either; probably because she won't find it to be a challenge. I dunno~"
Ryu wasn't sure what to think of Alexei's response, but didn't want to pry any further. "Hm, I wonder... she seems relatively normal, outside music, so why does she tend to avoid people? She can say some pretty mean things too, seriously~."
"She's not used to having people like her for her, not just for her music or because she's famous, so she tends to be by herself and besides acting harsh with criticisms, that's something that really~ won't change, she tends to shut herself away to protect herself. I can't really blame her, but still..."
Ryu smirked and raised an eyebrow. "Heh~? You really DO care about her, Alex, despite everything, huh?"
Ryu was right. Alexei DID care, but he never showed it openly, just in subtle ways and he wasn't going to admit it to Ryu. With a bit of an annoyed tone, he replied, "I've got nothing to say to you, Ryu. And could we change the subject?"
"Spoilsport."
-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Ruika was sitting at her desk, drawing once again. This time was a picture of a young boy and girl. She hadn't drawn their faces yet, but by the looks of it, by the pose, they definitely knew each other. Before she knew it, she was unconsciously drawing herself and her older brother when they were very young, when he was still alive.
They looked happy and seemed so carefree, so much different than the person she had become, and had a slightly sad smile on her face. That smile turned to a frown when one of her classmates asked her if she thought that she was going to be chosen to participate in the concours.
"Ruika? You think you'll get to participate in the concours? We all seem to think so, seriously."
Ruika glanced at the student for a moment before going back to her drawing. "Perhaps, but even though it seems simple, I guess I can have fun playing like I always do. Just because I'm a prodigy, it doesn't guarantee me a spot. I'm new here anyway..." _________________ "For me, as long as you're saying it, it doesn't matter how slowly you say it, I'll still listen. Today was the day. The announcement will be made today about the concours. Haruka woke up early in the morning to go to school. She was really excited. When she arrived at school, she was the first person in her classroom which showed how excited she was about today.
She took her seat and stared at the loud speaker wondering when it would be announced. As she stared at it, she thought back about the event yesterday. Mizuki was right, Ruika was pretty much a hypocrite since she had so much confidence in herself too but the difference between her and Ruika is the fact that Ruika really does win. And then that Alex guy, the prodigy’s cousin. What’s with all these warnings?!
Either way, I won’t lose to that prodigy again.
Then she watched as two of her classmates entered the room talking about the concours and who will take part in it.
“Ooh, no! I doubt that girl will get chosen! You know what I think? I think I’ll be chosen!” one of them giggled. She leaned on her desk while her friend stood next to her.
She laughed, “Right, and I’ll win first place.”
“Hey! What’s that supposed to mean?! I’ll have you know I play the flute a lot better than most of the students in this Academy!”
Haruka sighed, sick of hearing those two talk about who will be in the concours. She was interested in the real thing. When was the announcement going to start?!
OOC: Yay, it's going to begin soon~ XD _________________ ~Rella~ |

Mizuki's toe tapped rhythmically against the tile of the floor as she listened to some serious J-Urban in one ear, and partially listening to the conversations with the other. Chewing on a wad of pink gum, she waited for the teacher to arrive. He was always late, but it's not like anybody was complaining. A group of girls were sitting around Mizuki, talking about the concur's. In normal schools, the question would be, "Who's so-and-so going out with?"
But here, at Seiso, the question to be desired was, "Who's gonna get into the concur's?"
"Do you think you'll get into the concur's Mizuki-chan?" One of the girl's asked.
Kiri Daisuke. Daughter of... nobody special. Mizuki snorted, waving her hand, "No!" She said bluntly, "I'm not interested in those kind of things. I only signed up because my parents would get super pissed if I didn't!"
"That's not the right kind of motivation Mizuki-san." Another girl said, imitating Kochiai-sensei, "You should let other people join- people who want to."
The back of the classroom erupted in giggles, save for Mizuki's own. She just smiled and tapped her finger against her cheek.
"Bet you that new girl is getting into the concur's." One said bitterly.
"I hate it when new kids get everything!" Another whispered hurriedly.
Mizuki raised an eyebrow and pulled out her earphone, giving the conversation her full attention and spurring it further, "Oh she's not so bad. But she's definetely aware that she's good at music."
"I swear, I'm going to be so mad if she get's chosen. I can't believe she had the nerve to sign-up. It ruins it for us!" The prettiest girl in the classroom snapped.
Mizuki shrugged, being the only one sitting down for some reason, "Like it matters. Koshiai-sensei is later then usual. Where is he?"
"Attention students- Excuse the interupption. I would like to announce the contestants for the intraschool concur's. From class 1-A, Mizuki Futari, on the pedal harp." Mizuki looked up at the speaker, but continued to file her nails as if nothing had happened.
"From class 2-A, Ruika Novikov, on Violin." The girls spun around and scowled at each other, looking possibly vengeful, "From class 2-B, Alexei Novikov, on Viola. Also from class 2-B, Seiji Lin, on the piano. From class 3-B, Haruka Asazaki, on clarinet. And last, but not least, Kei Futari from class 3-2, on the flute." The principal's voice finished, "Thank you for your attention."
Mizuki's fingers flashed across the keyboard as she typed in the contestants. She knew every single one, save for that Seiji Lin guy. From his student ID, he was an immigrant, and paralyzed. And on the piano?? Weird.
"Congratulation's Mizuki-chan!" Half of the girls looked positively furtive, and Mizuki faked a smile that was just as furtive.
"Thanks!"
~ + ~
"DAMN YOU LITTLE SUCKER!!!" Mokoto yelled, jumping up and giving Seiji a noogie, "Some kind of crazy skill and luck you've got!"
"Mokoto." Hikore-sensei glared at the student from behind his thin spectacles, "Do, sit DOWN. Congratulations Seiji. Do your best. Now. Back to class..."
Seiji sweatdropped and rubbed his shoulders, which had hit full impact of Mokoto's weight. They suddenly hurt a lot now...
~ + ~
"This sucks." Kei muttered under his breath as everyone stared at him, mumbling and whispering.
"Kei play's an instrument?"
"I didn't even know he could read music!"
"But he's a regular student!"
"Have you ever heard him play?"
"CAN IT." Kei snapped, slamming his fist down on his desk. He was displeased, to say the least. And knowing Mizuki, she'd blab it off to their parents, and he'd be STUCK in this stupid COMPETITION. Just like every. Other. Time. _________________

"Hey, we were right~! You're totally in, Ruika!" Ruika was hearing all the students congratulating her, among other things.
Ruika, on the other hand, wasn't exactly thrilled. She didn't mind competing, but in almost all of them, she'd won 1st, and winning almost every time was getting boring. She didn't mention it to anyone, but in the ones where she got 2nd, she actually held back, but people who knew her music style, knew that.
"Hm~?" She really wasn't paying too much attention to the people around her as she was still concentrating on her drawing ((A/N: the same one as in my last post. XP Hm, I wanna draw it now~ XD)). She was beginning to color the pic when she realized that people were standing around her. "Thanks. Wasn't expecting to, but I guess this'll be another experience for me. Hopefully not a boring one." She added that last part in her mind.
"Hm? Alexei is your cousin, right? I've never heard him play, but I heard that he can play well too; it that true?" Asked her classmate, Asumi.
"Yes, he is and yeah, he can -- when he's not blinded by jealousy."
"That's a bit harsh, Ruika..."
"It's the truth. And he knows it, not that he'd admit it."
"Oh...," Asumi just shrugged it off. "so, what about the other participants? What do you think of them?"
"What do I think? I've met all of them, expect for Seiji and Alex of course since he IS my cousin. And personally... Mizuki's okay, I guess, not exactly fond of Haruka, and Kei hates me, not that I care."
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
"All right~! Nice one, Alex!" said Ryu, patting Alexei on the back.
"I'm going to kill Kuya later..." Alexei mumbled to himself.
"Though, I'm surprised that you didn't put that you were going to play saxophone instead of viola."
"Why would you say that, Ryu?" Alexei asked him bluntly, raising an eyebrow.
"Simple. You enjoy it so~ much more than viola. When I hear you play, it's like you're playing it because you're obligated to."
"Ryu?"
"Yeah?"
"Shut up."
Alexei noticed that everyone else that was chosen, besides Seiji, were people that he'd met before. He didn't really know Seiji as even though they were in the same class and, like Ruika, was also a transfer student. He saw when Seiji's name was called, his friend Motoko was really excited by that and when he gave him a noogie, Alexei had no comment to say. He had to admit that even though he was handicapped, he must certainly have skill.
Maybe this wouldn't be so bad after all... Then again... I've got nothing to say... Watch me be wrong...
((Your post doesn't interfere, Rella, so it's all good~. ^^)) _________________ "For me, as long as you're saying it, it doesn't matter how slowly you say it, I'll still listen. OOC: My post shouldn’t interfere with what you’re going to write so I’ll post my reaction now. ^^ Ooh, and Hanabi, your new avatar + sig look so cute! =D
When Haruka heard her name on the loud speaker, she couldn’t help but crack a smile and stick her tongue out at the girl who claimed she was a very good flute player. Haruka mouthed out, “Guess you’re not good enough.” The girl shot the clarinetist a death glare as her friend tried to calm her down.
“Congrats, Haruka-chan! I just knew you’d be in the concours!” the girl next to her said. She just so happened to be that very talkative girl Haruka asked when she wanted to know more about Ruika.
Haruka shrugged, “It wasn’t hard to get in, in my opinion.” She took out her music sheets and began looking through them. Hmm…I wonder what the theme will be for the first selection…
Rina, the talkative girl, frowned, “How come you’re not interested in knowing more about the other participants?”
Haruka stopped looking through her songs and looked up. How could she forget? The participants! Mizuki, Ruika, Alexei, Seiji, and Kei! She spoke to all of them except Seiji who played the piano, “Who is this Seiji Lin guy anyway?”
Glad that she got Haruka’s attention, Rina replied, “He’s the guy who is handicapped from class 2-B. I heard he is from China and came here because he liked music and this school is famous for its music academy.”
Haruka cocked an eye brow, “Is that so? Well, he won’t be much of a challenge to defeat then I guess but when I meet him, I’d definitely want to congratulate him for getting into the concours. People like him really are something.” If he managed to beat her, she’d see him as a rival but at the moment, he was okay in her book.
Rina nodded and grabbed a piece of paper and a pen from her desk and placed them on Haruka’s desk. Picking up the pen, she wrote down all the names of the people participating in the concours.
She circled Ruika and said, “She’s the person you should really look out for. I heard she’s a music prodigy.” Like Haruka didn’t know that already, she already challenged her to another competition and there was no way she was going to lose again.
Then Rina circled Alexei’s name, “He’s her cousin so you shouldn’t look down at him. Probably, just as good as her.” She drew an arrow and linked their names together. Haruka shrugged. Alex didn’t seem like much when she encountered him. He was just like Ruika’s shadow.
“Ah! Then we have the sibling combo! Futari Mizuki and Kei,” she circled their names and placed arrows in between them. “Mizuki-chan is from class 1-A Music Department and Kei-kun is from class 3-B Regular Department…hmm…I never knew Kei-kun knew how to play the flute! That’s a first. Haha, it shocked me when I heard his name on the loud speaker. He might be a surprise then, be careful, Haruka-chan, he can shock you again during the competition. Hmm…Mizuki-chan plays a harp but since she’s in the first year, I’m not very sure if she is good or not then again, she’s in the competition so I’ll have to say she must be pretty good!”
Haruka thought for a moment. She never heard Mizuki played the harp so she didn’t know whether or not she was going to be a challenge, like Rina said, so she will watch and see. Then there was Kei. She had to admit, Kei’s name being announced was a little shocking to her. Kei was from the Regular Department so she never knew he would make it in but hearing Akino always saying how good he was, Haruka was definitely going to have to watch out for him too. Her biggest rival was still Ruika though but there was just a bit more competition now.
“So, what do you think? Do you still think you have a chance at being the winner of the concours?” Rina asked as she capped her pen.
Haruka grinned, “What do you think? Of course! I always have confidence in myself. Even though there are four more people in my way, I can still win. Just watch.” She folded the paper Rina wrote all the participants’ names on and threw it in the garbage can nearby with her perfect aim. _________________ ~Rella~ |

The bell rang, signaling lunchtime, and Mokoto drabbled on and on about how lucky I was. I nodded, smiling and saying, "Yeah yeah, it's your turn to get lunch you know."
"Eh???" Mokoto stopped talking, and began to blubber, but I ignored him as I walked up to Alexei-san, smiling and holding out a hand to shake as I said, "Congratulations on getting into the concur's! We'll do our best, I'm sure!"
~ + ~
"You little sucker!" Akino grinned and Kei chewed on his straw, in a terrible mood again, "You didn't tell me you'd signed up for the concur's!"
"I didn't." Kei's gaze slid pointedly towards Mizuki, who was typing away on her laptop, "Somebody else did." Mizuki ignored her older brother and pretended as if she hadn't heard him at all as he continued, "And, I have to ask why that SOMEBODY, is eating lunch with us?"
"Because Akino-baka paid." Mizuki replied coolly, smiling a bishoujo smile at Akino and saying in a very girly voice, "Thank you so much for lunch Akino-kuuun~"
Akino sweatdropped, "Are you trying to prove something?"
"What?" Kei asked sarcastically, slurping up the rest of his soda, "That she can be moderately pleasant?"
"That's mean!" Mizuki said, pretending to be offended, "And you haven't even apologized to Ruika-chan yet! Kei-chan, you need to go back to the school for little boys!"
A vein pop emerged blatantly on Kei's forehead as he snapped, "It's not like I'm going to go looking for her to apologize. If I run into her, I'll think about it, but don't expect it." He poked his chopsticks at the inori he'd bought, thinking about how troublesome the concur's would be.
"Would the students chosen to participate in the intraschool concur's please report to the faculty lounge after the end-of-the-day bell has rung? Thank you."
Mizuki looked up at the speaker, her own chopsticks hanging from the edge of her mouth as she whipped out a black marker and wrote on her hand, 'faculty lounge after school'.
"You're going to get poisoned Mizuki." Akino sighed, pointing at the marker.
"Yeah," Mizuki shrugged, "By your stupidity."
And that was the end of that conversation. _________________

Lunchtime at last~ the end of a boring first half, with another to come, but at least for now... freedom~! Alexei took out a blank music sheet from his bag and started to write on it. Ryu noticed it and took his lunch and sat in the chair in front of his with the back of the chair hitting his chest.
"Heh~? You writing music? For viola or saxophone?"
"Saxophone. Kuya said it was my turn to write music and I wonder why he wanted me to. Out of the three of us, Kuya was always the expert in this category."
"If you need any help, we can just borrow one of the pianos later and I'll help with it. And hey~" Ryu nudged Alexei's arm with his elbow. "You guys didn't say anything to me about your last gig. That makes me sad."
"Shut up. It was a last minute thing anyway and we didn't need a pianist, no offense. Next time, talk to Kuya."
"Will do."
The pair didn't say anything more when they saw Seiji walk towards them. He stuck his hand out to Alexei and said, "Congratulations on getting into the concours! We'll do our best, I'm sure!"
Funny? I heard that he had a disability or something, but he doesn't seem to have one.
Alexei shook his hand back. "Thanks and to you too." Alexei would have said more if Ruika hadn't come into their classroom. She walked over to them. She guessed that the person who was standing near his desk was Seiji; the person sitting in the chair, she didn't know who that was, but figured it was one of Alexei's friends.
"Hi Alex, I've got something for you." She took something that looked like an envelope out of her coat pocket, and placed it on Alexei's desk.
"What's this?"
"A letter from Kat. She told me to give it to you, which I would have done sooner, but I forgot to. Sorry." She paused for a moment before continuing. "Seriously, you two should just go out, even if it's long distance."
"Ruika... thanks and shut up. There's nothing going on between us."
"Sure~" she smirked. "Only someone blind wouldn't be able to see how much she cares about you and vice versa."
Alexei was left speechless and decided to read the letter Ruika had just given him. Ruika then turned her attention to Seiji. "You must be Seiji Lin, right? I'm Ruika Novikov, Alexei's cousin." _________________ "For me, as long as you're saying it, it doesn't matter how slowly you say it, I'll still listen.

OOC: Kay, then I'll skip to the afternoon.
IC: "Ah!" I turned and smiled at Novikov-san, "Yes! Yes, I'm Seiji! It's very nice to meet you Novikov-san!" Mokoto shoved a box of chinese stir-fry into my face and I took it and thanked him.
"Well, I'd better go eat- I'm glad we could meet Novikov-san, and let's do our best!"
"Yeah. Go eat before you conk out again." Mokoto mumbled with a sandwich in his mouth as he dug around his backpack.
"I'm not going to 'conk out'." I shot back, "I wouldn't be walking if I was."
"Wow Seiji," Mokoto raised an eyebrow and smirked, "You sure told me."
I sighed and sat down, begrudgingly eating my food.

"So, everyone here? Good." Hachino-sensei didn't wait for an answer, his blonde hair spiked up in a look that probably wasn't supposed to be for someone his age, "Anyway. Why don't we all introduce ourselves and be pals? I'm Fuukoku Hachino, and I'll be your instructor for the concur's or whatever. How about you start Futari?"
Mizuki blinked, "Me or Kei?"
"You, smart one." Hachino-sensei shot sarcastically, leaning back in his seat as he chewed on the end of a toothpick.
"Ah." Mizuki looked like she was ready to slug the man, but resisted the temptation as she said, "My name is Futari Mizuki, and I play the pedal and celtic Harp. And double reed instruments, but only as a hobby!"
"Futari Kei, all variations of flute." Kei muttered, giving off a dark aura of annoyance.
"I'm Seiji Lin, and I play the piano. It's well known, but I'm one of the handicapped students in Seiso Academy." Seiji said with a glittery smile.
"You don't look handicapped," Mizuki said, leaning over the table to look at Seiji, "You can walk and move and stuff." Of course Mizuki knew exactly what was wrong with Seiji Lin. It was in his Student Profile. But for the sake of being bored, she had found the need to interuppt the next person who was going to introduce themselves.
"Don't pry Mizuki." Kei scolded.
"Ah- No it's quite alright!" Seiji waved it away with his hand, saying, "I can't lift my arms higher then my shoulders," Seiji brought his right arm up just barely past the middle of his pectorals, "See? So I can play instruments that stretch my arm side-to-side, but not up, like a flute."
Kei's glare slide over to Seiji who sweatdropped. Best not to make any references to that instrument, he supposed.
"So keep going." Hachino-sensei spat out his toothpick and it tumbled into the wastebasket with incredible aim. _________________

"Yeah, you too. And please, I hate the formalities. Just Ruika's enough."
She just couldn't get used to people calling her "Novikov-san" "Novikov-sama," or even "Ruika-chan" sounded a little strange to her as before she came to Seiso, everyone just called her by her first name. And with her, she couldn't call people by their last name either; she just wasn't used to it. If she did use the "-san," "-chan," or "-kun" suffixes, it'd be used following their first name.
When Ruika saw Motoko (who she obviously didn't know his name) mentioning something about Seiji 'conking out' so to speak, she was kinda confused by it, but she brushed it aside.
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Ah, that'd answers my question. Alexei thought while Seiji was introducing himself. He pretty much ignored Mizuki and Kei's introductions, as he had already knew their names, but at least now he knew what they both played.
"So keep going." said Hachino-sensei as he spat out his toothpick and it tumbled into the wastebasket with incredible aim.
Neither he or Ruika said anything yet, so he gave the liberty of going before her.
"Alexei Novikov and I play the viola, occasionally violin, and saxophone, both alto and tenor." Alexei tried not to sound annoyed as he didn't want to be in the concours in the first place, even if Ruika wasn't here. He hated most classical anyway and would rather play jazz music, but since he did sign up saying that he was going to play viola, he had no choice. That and... Takuya was the one who made him sign up.
He still wanted to get revenge on Takuya for making him sign up, but of course now.. he'd be going up against his cousin again. It had been years since he'd been in an actual competition against Ruika and after hearing her in person again after being overseas for three years, he really had a challenge in front of him. She was the one person that he really couldn't match, and his jealousy for her wasn't helping. Of course, she had told him numerous times that he had talent, but he just couldn't see it. Maybe, even if he couldn't beat her, he could begin to see what she was talking about all this time.
"I'm Ruika Novikov and I play the violin and viola." I also play piano, but... I haven't touched it in public for years... Ruika really wasn't all that thrilled to be in the concours, as she didn't think it'll be a difficult competition (being a prodigy didn't help), but despite that, it had to do with music, so she guessed it was alright. And of course... she did accept Haruka's rematch offer, which was something she didn't normally do, but Haruka's playing style DID remind her of her younger years.
"You're that music prodigy that just transferred here, right?"
"Yeah... and what's your point?" Ruika asked boredly.
"Okay... whatever.," He decided to change the subject. "Anyway, that's everyone but one person. Care to introduce yourself?" Hachino-sensei was implying Haruka as she was the only one who didn't introduce herself yet.
((I hope it was okay if I had Hachino-sensei say that; I can always edit it out if you DO mind, Hanabi.)) _________________ "For me, as long as you're saying it, it doesn't matter how slowly you say it, I'll still listen.
