OOC: So sorry for not being so active on this! It’s because school has been such a killer lately. I’ve gotten tons of assignments and projects to do. I still need to do a lot of essays this week. TT__TT I’ll try to post once everyday again. This RP takes place in the summer, and I like that, it’s freezing here. >.< That reminds me, I still gotta look for songs for the concours. I’ve thought of just one. XD
Haruka spent the whole time on the bus just staring out the window because she didn’t want to look at her music sheets. It was too much of a great day to not look out. The sun was high up in the sky and the clouds were as pretty as ever. Instead of wearing elegantly for no reason like last time during the duel with Ruika, Haruka chose to wear something more casual this time. She wore a dark red one shoulder blouse with cascading studs and an attached rhinestone circle pendant, a black skirt with a matching belt, and a two inch heel ankle strap pump. Because it was hot today, she also decided to tie her hair up into a bun with bangs hanging down from her forehead and matched her hair style with hoop earrings.
When they arrived at the villa, Haruka examined the setting. It was in the countryside which was perfect because it’d be quiet. She loves the city but it wasn’t exactly the best place to be able to concentrate in. She smiled lightly and got hold of her luggage.
Entering the house with everyone else, she heard Kei ask the teacher where their rooms were. From the looks of this place, Haruka knew immediately that she would probably prefer her own home more since this place was rather small but then again, this was probably going to be better. She glanced at the people present. Or maybe not.
Then she heard everyone telling the other who they did not want to sleep with. Hearing Kei’s statement, the way he slammed the door behind him, and how he addressed her, she got mad. “Oh, aren’t you just charming, Sir Impudent!” Haruka screamed right next to the door so he could hear her. And to think he was okay in the beginning, oh yes, she’s changing her mind already for sure.
Turning around to face the others, she said, “I could care less about who I’m rooming with also but to make this fair, why don’t someone just write three pairs of numbers on pieces of paper and then fold them. We’ll just pick a piece up and whoever has the same number will be roomed together? I think that is the best thing to do.” Though she’d really curse herself silly if she ended up in a room with someone she disliked.
OOC: Oh, haha, I like the idea a lot too! It’ll definitely be fun to put people who don’t get along together! XD _________________ ~Rella~
Ruika took out her sketchbook, flipped to a blank page, tore it out, and ripped it into six pieces. She then took out a pencil from her bag and wrote the numbers one through three, one number on each piece. Afterwards, she placed her pencil and sketchbook back into her bag.
She began to crumble then while saying to everyone, "Alright, there are six crumbled up pieces of paper on the floor and each one has a number from one to three. There's two of each number -- two ones, two twos, two threes, and whoever has the same number as you is who you're rooming with," she paused for a moment before continuing in a serious tone. "No whining and no complaints. Just suck it up if you're rooming with someone you're not particularly fond of. Are we clear on that? Any objections?"
She noticed no one saying anything, so she thought that everyone was alright with it. She finished crumbling them and scrambled them, so they'd be all mixed up before saying, "Alright, everyone. Pick a number so we can figure out who's rooming with who already."
Everyone picked up a crumbled piece of paper, except for Kei as he wasn't in the room, so that left one piece on the ground. Everyone opened their crumbled paper so they knew their number. "Alright, who's got what number? I've got two."
"I've got three." Alexei said in a bored tone.
Before anyone else could reply, Ruika noticed one crumbled piece of paper still remaining so she picked up the paper and opened it. "Since Kei-san's not here, I'll open up the last piece and see what he would have gotten. If he were here, he would have gotten one. Okay, that leaves you three." _________________ "For me, as long as you're saying it, it doesn't matter how slowly you say it, I'll still listen. If you can't talk over the phone, then I'll come to see you, just like this. I'm not a dolphin. You're also not a dolphin. If you want to walk, no matter how slowly it'll be, I'll walk with you."
"Right now, I might not be that reliable. One day, maybe I'll be able to help. Things can't be the same as they were before, but there's this kind of feeling that's linking us together. I don't think we're living in different worlds."
"I've got one." Seiji sweatdropped, as he stared at the slightly crinkled number 'one' on his sheet of paper that dictated his doom.
Mizuki opened her piece of paper, and froze, turning blue, "Uhh... Err... Ehmm...."
"What kind of number is that?" Kei glared at the number on Mizuki's paper from over her shoulder, sending her jumping sky high from surprise, "I thought I said you weren't rooming with a guy." Kei said in a very very threatening tone as he glared daggers at Alexei.
Seiji muffled his laughter by stuffing his fist into his mouth as he watched Kei try to glare a hole through Mizuki's to-be-roommate.
"Uhhh... it's okay Kei-chan, Alex-chan is a good person!"
"Alex... chan??" Kei glared at his sister, who sweatdropped, "So familiar already, are we??"
Mizuki, for the first time in her life, was about to collapse from fear at her brother's expression on absolute hatred.
"I'm going to bed." Kei snapped moodily, saying nothing more to Alexei or his little sister, re-slamming the door behind him. The definite sound of a lock was heard again, but this time, it was Seiji's time to turn blue.
"Uhh... I um... can't get in." He knocked tentatively, just to get no response.
Mizuki listened for any 'rawr' sounds coming from the room before grinning and calling right next to the door, "Let's go unpack Alex-chan!"
It was the definitive sound of godzilla's roar within the room, but Kei seemed determined to keep at least some of his pride and dignity by staying firmly inside the locked room. Mizuki's unmistakeable kitten smile signified further torture for Kei for the rest of the night.
"Let's goooo~" Mizuki grabbed Alexei's arm and dragged him into the room they would share, so she could divulge the details for 'Operation: Torture Onii-chan!'.
Seiji sighed, smiling a pitying smile at the open door while Mizuki called out loudly enough for Kei to hear, "That's a WONDERFUL idea Alex-chan!" (He most likely didn't say anything at all. She was just pushing Kei's buttons.)
"I feel... kind of sorry for him." Seiji muttered, loud enough for only Asazaki-senpai and Novikov-san to hear. _________________
"..." was Alexei's inital response when he saw Kei glancing at the piece of paper in Mizuki's hand. When Kei glared at him, his expression still looked like a poker face, but in his mind, he sighed.
Geez... Kei looks like he wants to kill me; kinda can't blame him but still... It's not like I have ANY intention of hurting Mizuki anyway; she's not even my type anyway and even if she was, I'm not stupid.
When Ruika saw the way Kei was looking at Alexei, she couldn't help but try to hold back her laughter. She thought this was hilarious especially since though she knew Alexei felt nothing towards Mizuki, she reminded her of Ekaterina (Kat for short) just a tad. She wasn't as hyper as Mizuki was, that's for sure, but she definitely was upbeat and optimistic, which made her wonder why Kat fell for Alexei and vice versa, not that Alexei would admit it, as they were almost completely the opposite of each other.
Alexei on the other hand wanted to glare at both Ruika and Seiji for laughing, but he was able to hold his composure. He admit that he wasn't really thrilled to be rooming with Mizuki, but it could be worse, right...?
Great... well, as long she doesn't get all hyper, it should be alright. But, why do I think that, that isn't gonna be the case. She does remind me of Kat a little bit, but Mizuki is like 10x more hyper than she is. Geez~
"Alex-chan...?" he mumbled with a slight confused look on his face. "I barely know this girl and she's already calling me like we know each other..."
He saw Kei slam the door of his room again and he felt kinda bad for Seiji since he was the one who had to room with him.
That guy... he reeally~ need to work on his anger... So do I, but I don't blow my tempter every five seconds like I'm PMSing or something...
Alexei couldn't think of much else when Mizuki grabbed his arm and said cheerfully, "Let's go unpack, Alex-chan! Let's gooo~~"
"Whaa~" Alexei replied in shock as Mizuki was dragging him to their room. When they got into the room, Mizuki let go of him arm, which he found to be a relief. He only sighed for a moment when he saw Mizuki smirking which puzzled him and he raised an eyebrow.
"What is it? What are you up to?"
Her answer wasn't exactly what answering his question, but after hearing it, it must have been something to torture her brother. "That's a WONDERFUL idea Alex-chan!"
"I didn't say anything about an idea..." he mumbled softly.
Geez~ this is gonna be a loong~ week...
Back outside the room, Seiji sighed, smiling a pitying smile at the open door while Mizuki called out loudly enough for Kei to hear, "That's a WONDERFUL idea Alex-chan!"
"I feel... kind of sorry for him." Seiji muttered, loud enough for only Asazaki-senpai and Novikov-san to hear.
"This'll be interesting indeed." Ruika said with a slight chuckle. She then turned her attention to Haruka and sighed. She was going to room with Haruka and though it wouldn't be as bad as if she were rooming with Kei, but would still be annoying. "Well, if I HAVE to room with you, Haruka-san, I'll have to deal with it. Can't be that bad, huh?" _________________ "For me, as long as you're saying it, it doesn't matter how slowly you say it, I'll still listen.
OOC: I just have to post. xDD I'm sorry Rella! >.<
IC: "Be quiet!!" Mizuki hissed, "Do you want him to hear you??" (Even though Alexei had mumbled it nearly incoherantly.)
"Anyway," Mizuki tossed herself onto one of the beds and stretched, "I have to think of stuff to make Kei-chan angry... But, it can't be too weird, or else I'll embarass myself, and that's not what I'm going for." Mizuki continued to mutter to herself, scratching out ideas and making up new ones in her mind. She folded her arms atop each other and stared at the ground, her back facing the ceiling as she waved her legs back and forth.
"Oh!" Mizuki sat up abruptly, "I should probably go get my stuff...." She reverted back to her original position rather quickly though, "Nah. Maybe later."
Seiji sighed, running a hand through his hair, "Looks like I can't unpack for awhile. I'm going to go practice, if anyone... er..." He glanced at the closed door of his room, "Needs me."
Dragging himself to one of the practice rooms and pulling out a piece of music he'd transcribed himself awhile back- Room of Angel. To be honest, Seiji hated classic music, and preferred to transcribe modern songs and music himself.
Touching his fingers lightly against the white and black keys, he pressed the first note to the simple song. It wasn't particularly difficult. Perfect for a warm up song, because it had very few chords and got your fingers warmed up.
Smiling her reached over to play the high note, but flinched, his arm jolting back to him as if on a spring.
"Ouch." Seiji rubbed his shoulder, "I wasn't expecting that."
Rolling his shoulder around in it's socket, a small 'pop' was heard and Seiji flinched again. Ouuuch.
"I guess that was the problem." He sweatdropped reaching for the high note to continue where he'd left off. _________________
Haruka forced a smile, “If you’re not as rude as the guy who banged the door twice then I guess I’ll just have to tolerate rooming with you.” She hates door bangers and the sound of the door banging, it makes it seem like the banger is the only one pissed off with everything which isn’t true. What happened to common courtesy anyway?!
Haruka walked into their room and frowned, “Wow…this has got to be the worst room I’m ever going to be sleeping in. I’m taking the bed near the window!” Without hearing Ruika’s reply, she walked over there quickly and sat down with her luggage near her feet. She was about to unpack when she realized she was missing something. Did it drop?
She hurried back outside and realized it was, indeed, dropped. Quickly, she picked it up and stuffed it back into her pocket. Phew! I’m glad I didn’t lose it. Feeling the key chain, she was glad it was back where it belonged.
Just when she was about to get back into the room, another thought came into mind. Why not check out the music rooms first? She was going to practice there anyway so why not? Turning the other way, she began to make her way towards the music rooms.
The first room she came across was pretty small but still acceptable because the view outside the window was really good. Yup, this was the room she will be choosing to practice her instrument. Oh yes, that prodigy is going down this time, for sure.
She was about to enter the second one when she realized the third room was occupied. Cocking an eye brow, she decided to check out just who would go ahead and practice before her. When she peered through the small window of the door, she noticed it was Seiji playing the piano. She was about to walk off and grab her instrument but stopped when her eyes landed on his luggage near him. He didn’t get to put down his stuff first? Is he that dedicated? Practice does make perfect so I’m not going to…wait a second…don’t tell me it was because that rude person didn’t open the door yet!
She became angry again. That was it. Walking back in front of Kei’s door, she banged on it, “You! Unlock the door right NOW before I personally knock it down before you!”
OOC: Haha, this action kinda reminds me of what happened to Haruka near the beginning of the RP with the other door banger. XD _________________ ~Rella~
Kei looked up. That was the unmistakeable voice of Asazaki. Hn. Why was she so pissed? Having taken the time to calm down, Kei opened the door, looking down slightly to see an angry Asazaki.
"What?" He asked bluntly, a toothpick and bottle of oil in his hands as he went back to oiling his keys, leaving the door open. He grabbed a small piece of cloth and dabbed away the excess oil that he'd accidentally spread onto the keys after jumping in surprise at the loud banging on his door, waiting for Asazaki to reply to his question.
"Uh-oh." Kei sighed as he tried to put his flute together- not exactly to much avail. Pulling out the cleaning cloth, Kei rubbed down the joints, continuing, "Where's Seiji?"
It was obvious that Kei had completely and totally forgotten that he'd locked the poor boy out. _________________
"Whatever, it's just a bed." Ruika said borely as she saw Haruka take the bed near the window.
Such a spoiled brat. It's not that bad. I've had to sleep in places much, much worse. This is nothing. It's not even bad. Her life really has been handed to her on a silver platter. It's like she's never suffered.
Ruika placed her belongings next to her bed and sat on the bed for a moment. She took out her sketchbook, a pencil, and her mp3 player with an attached speaker and walked towards the balcony. ((A/N: Heh, I'm making their room at least have one; hope that's alright? )) She placed the mp3 player on the ledge and turned it on. The first song that played sounded so familar, but she couldn't put her finger on it for a moment. After hearing the first few notes, she remembered that it was the violin sonata that she had composed with her brother. She guessed that it was called that, though it could also be a duet as they both wrote it together.
It was the only piece she and her brother Yuri wrote before he died, thirteen years back. It brought back memories for her and she knew that it was a pretty long piece too as she could remember, it was at least 50 pages long. For the most part, Yuri wrote the piano part and she wrote the violin part. Though they were both in the same room while doing so, so the piece would sound right together. Her brother was a prodigy, just like she was, so it was amazing that in little less than a week, they'd finish writing the piece. She may have officially composed something when she was five, but it was really when she was three, but it was unofficial as this piece was never played in public; such a shame as the piece was really well composed, 'specially people their age.
While the gentle, yet poweful music was playing, Ruika continued to work on her drawing. She was almost done with the piece as she just need to add the shading to it. Her drawings weren't astoundingly done well, but were definitely decent enough that it looked like effort was taken into it.
"Yuri... you remember this piece right..? The one that we wrote, the only one we wrote together... before you died...?" Ruika mumbled softly as a single tear fell down her face, which she quickly brushed away before it could fall on her paper.
Damn it, what's wrong with me...? This isn't like me... I shouldn't being getting all emotional like this. I thought I got over this pain... I guess it may have to do with the anniversary of their deaths is coming up. Perhaps...
-------------------
Alexei was sitting on his bed while wondering what he was going to do. Mizuki said that she wanted to think of stuff to piss Kei off, not that he'd care, but it got him curious. "Why exactly do you want to purposely piss your brother off? You get some enjoyment from doing so? Why do I have a bad feeling that I'm somehow going to get involved in this..?"
His eyes glanced at his viola case for a moment, as he realized that he should practice for a bit. Before he could think, say, or do anything else, he heard some music coming from outside.
Huh? Who's playing? It sounds like a violin and a piano. Wait a minute... A piano..?
That's when he realized that it had to be an mp3 as there wasn't a piano outside. "What's that music? It sounds so~ familiar... Wait... isn't this the piece that Ruika and Yuri wrote thirteen years back? I heard a part of it once back then. Hm, so this is the finished version...? It's such a graceful piece.. Those two... they really weren't prodigies for nothing..." That last sentence he said a bit softer than the rest.
Hn, it's strange that Ruika sounded so good when she was playing with Yuri, but was different without him back then. It's only years after his death and her parents' that she played that well again... _________________ "For me, as long as you're saying it, it doesn't matter how slowly you say it, I'll still listen.
Haruka glared at him, “Are you serious?! You left the kid outside the entire time and slammed the door twice, yes, twice shut and locked it. Then you ask where is he? You sure have some nerves!” She didn’t even realize her hand banging against the door every time she was emphasizing a word.
Sighing, she shook her head, “I don’t even know why I’m doing this.” Waving her hand carelessly, she said, “Just go and get him for God’s sake. He’s in the third music room.” With that, she turned around and headed back to her own room.
Upon entering the room, she heard music coming from the balcony. Huh…I’ve never heard of this song before…but it does sound pretty nice… Looking closer, she realized the music was coming out of Ruika’s mp3 player. Since the prodigy was oblivious to the fact that she was already inside the room, Haruka just decided to unpack first. Plus, she’d get to choose the drawers first! First come, first serve~
OOC: Might edit this, gotta go and do something now. -_- _________________ ~Rella~
Mizuki looked up, hearing the music as well. Hmph. Whatever. Ignoring Alexei's words and turning over, she said, "Why? Hmmm, I've never really thought about that." Putting her hands behind her head she blinked up at the plain white ceiling, "He's always really uptight at home, so I like to let him vent when we're not at home. Besides. Isn't it really funny to see him get all mad??" She grinned, before sitting up, "I think I'm going to go find a harp. Later~"
Skipping out of the room and downstairs, she pulled her backpack onto her shoulder and peered into every soundproof music room, trying to find a room with a harp. She was successful in finding a very very ugly harp. It was too traditional for her, the ornate gold being perhaps the total opposite of her square black harp at home.
"Oh well." Mizuki sighed, pulling out a folded towel to put on her shoulder. Pulling the harp towards her and resting it on the towel, Mizuki bent over and pulled out her etude book, flipping to the first page and strumming her fingers over the harp.
"Ouch!" Mizuki looked down a her middle finger, which was pink from string burn. These strings were awfully taut. Adjusting the knobs at the top Mizuki shook her head. She should've dragged her own harp from home here too.
~
Kei sighed. What an annoying pest. He didn't say anything, nor did he attempt to go find Seiji. If he was in a music room, it'd be rude to interuppt him. At least, Kei himself hated being interuppted when he was practicing. He was about to tune his flute when the sound of a piano floated into his room. The door was still open, as Kei had intended for Seiji to notice when he was finished. Narrowing his eye, he recognized the scritchy sound as an Mp3.
Grabbing the door, he highly considered yelling 'Play your own music!', but didn't. He just closed the door a little louder then normal. How annoying. They were at this villa to practice, not to listen to music and BLAST it so that everyone else could hear it!!
Kei sighed, shaking his head and pulling out 'In the Bleak Midwinter' and setting it onto the wire stand in the room, he didn't even bother to tune his flute. How he would despise this week.
~
Seiji looked up and smiled. Ah, what a pure sound. Standing up and leaning out of the open window, he rested his chin against the heel of his palm. Novikov-san was crying. To be honest, Seiji wasn't really curious as to why. He didn't like knowing about those things, because they always made him sad too.
"Hmm..." Seiji muttered to himself, drumming his fingers along with the rhythm. That was a piano piece that Seiji definetely wouldn't have enjoyed playing. He chuckled to himself, thinking how different it sounded from his own style, which was always laid back and sleepy. But this was all that and powerful, like waves washing on the shore of a beach.
Pulling on the window pane to block out the music, he sat back down on the piano seat, pressing the first note he'd recognized from the music. Shaking his head Seiji decided that he wouldn't butcher the piece today. Maybe he'd ask Novikov-san if she had the score some other time. Maybe at dinner... _________________
((Rella, with what Haruka said to Kei about Seiji being in the 3rd music room, I just couldn't help but think of Ouran~ XD))
"Ah, so I see. I suppose..." Alexei didn't say anymore as Mizuki decided to find a harp to practice so she left him alone in the room. He could still heard the music, even though Ruika didn't turn it on uber loud. He knew Ruika, that though she was a perfectionist and was serious about her music, she would never over practice. She always took things at her own pace and look where it's gotten her. She's become a successful musician and at her rate, she could definitely surpass the top pros out there.
Alexei decided to head downstairs and start practicing himself. When he found one that was empty, he took out the music sheets for Bach's Viola Concerto in C Minor, both parts I and II. He took out his viola and began to play it. His Viola Concerto in C Minor was one of the few classical pieces that Alexei actually liked. Funny that the second part seemed more sad than the first part. Go figure.
As he was playing it, it seemed to sound different to him, different than what he was used to hearing the last time he played it. It seemed to have more life than the last time he played it. Was it because he heard the piece that Ruika and Yuri composed those thirteen years back, or was it because he was finally getting over his jealousy? He didn't know, but he didn't care about the answer at the moment; he was just happy that his playing sounded like he actually enjoyed playing it, not just because he had to, like Ryu and even Takuya had told him before.
-------------
The song, which was over twelve minutes song, Ruika decided to not to listen to the whole thing, as it was just giving her too many memories, so she turned her mp3 player off. She couldn't remember the name of the piece as it didn't appear on the screen, but it was probably more like she blocked it out. The name would come to her... eventually.
She noticed a few tears fell on her paper and she shrugged. It didn't ruin it, per se, but still... She touched her face with her right hand and noticed that she had ended up actually crying. Something really was wrong with her and it was truly bothering her now. She wiped the tears away with her hand and took a deep breath. She heard the opening and closing of drawers, so she realized that Haruka must have started to unpack.
She hoped that her face wasn't tear-stained, but she wasn't looking at a mirror, so she didn't know. She walked back to her bed, placed her sketchbook, which was still on the page she was working on -- the pic of her, Yuri, and their parents, who all looked cheerful, just like the last one of she did of herself and Yuri, her mp3 player, and her pencil on the bed.
She then opened her suitcase and taking some of the clothes out, she said to Haruka as she placing them in the armoire, "You can take the drawers and I'll take the armoire. I've got enough space for my stuff as the armoire's a decent size." She didn't say much else as she picked up her violin case and left the room.
Once she was outside the room, Ruika decided to head downstairs and go into one of the practice rooms. Once she found one, she took out her violin and bow and started to play Ravel's Tzigane by memory. The powerful notes radiated from the instrument and though the room was soundproof, she accidentally forgot to close the door all the way, so it was open just a tiny bit and the music she was playing could leave the room.
((Whee~ finally got her to play that song that Len played in the Third Selection. I <3 that song a lot; too bad I can't get it to fit with any of the themes~ T.T)) _________________ "For me, as long as you're saying it, it doesn't matter how slowly you say it, I'll still listen. OOC: WOW. This post is like, a whole load of NOTHING. xDD
IC: Seiji grimaced. Maybe he should stop for today. He couldn't understand why his arms were in so much pain- It wasn't as if this happened every day. Shaking his head he picked up his duffle bag and slung it on his left shoulder, which hurt a little less then the right. Exiting the practice room, Seiji closed it quietly behind him, even though he knew all the music rooms were soundproof. He was still a little self-concious about disturbing everyone. Walking down the hall Seiji blinked. It seem as if Futari-senpai was practicing.. inside their room?
Seiji practically tiptoed inside, the loud double forte of the flute only giving way the shuffling sounds of the chinese boy when Kei took a quick breath. But the powerful and full tone stopped immediately when Seiji tripped over his own feet while trying not to make a sound, sending his duffle bag flying onto the couch that sat underneath the window of the room.
"Oh. Asazaki was bothering me awhile back about you."
Seiji blinked, "Asazaki-senpai? Why?"
"Because I locked you out." Kei scoffed, rolling his eyes, "Pffft."
Seiji sweatdropped, "O-Oh, well, that's alright, I don't have all that much stuff with me anyway! I'm sorry I interuppted you-... er... There are practice rooms, you know, right Futari-senpai?"
Kei stared with disdain, "Senpai?"
Seiji froze, "W-Would you like me to address you d-differently??" He stammered quickly, trying to undo the obvious damage.
Kei raised an eyebrow, "Uh. No, that's okay."
'Wow. This guy is spineless.'
"I don't like practice rooms. Besides. If I keep the windows open, it kills the point of BEING in a practice room, doesn't it?" Kei shrugged, indicating towards the wide open window of the room, "It was stuffy in here."
Seiji blinked, "Oh. I guess so. Well, I think I'm going to go outside for some fresh air, you know?"
"Yep." Kei replied casually, obviously waiting for his roommate to leave before he continued practicing.
'Pressure...' Seiji thought to himself, turning slightly blue as he hurried out of the room. He'd unpack when Futari-senpai was done practicing. When he closed the door he flinched. Wow. That really clashed. He could hear the distinct sound of a lamenting violin- Novikov-san, no doubt, and right behind him was the muffled sound of a flute that was playing a powerful and angry song.
Novikov-san? Seiji followed the music, interested in what really made a prodigy, a prodigy. Sitting down on the floor next to the door that Novikov-san was playing inside, Seiji leaned his head against the wall. His shoulders had dimmed to a dull throb within the last few minutes free of reaching up and down the scale of the piano. It had certainly been awhile since he'd played the instrument, so he supposed that was why his shoulders hurt.
Listening to the music that trickled out of the music room, Seiji glanced at all the other practice rooms. It seemed as if by now, most of them were occupied. He could see Mizuki yelling from behind the soundproof door, and he couldn't help but smile. Her expression and the music he could hear contrasted so much. But, the music was too sad. It wasn't something Seiji could play successfully. His emotions were usually of the cheerful kind, and there was no sadness in him that he could pour into a piece like this.
Seiji wondered how Novikov-senpai could find this much emotion to translate through this music. But, there seemed to be a lot of things that he didn't know. About everyone.
About why Novikov-san had been crying.
About why Futari-senpai got angry so much, and yet was so calm the last time Seiji had seen him.
Then there was Alexei-san and Asazaki-senpai. This music was making Seiji think. Closing his eyes he sighed, pulling himself up and he was just about to open the front door of the villa when he heard Hachino-sensei's heavy steps on the staircase.
"Ah, Hachino-sensei!" Seiji smiled, but Hachino-sensei looked extremely agitated, chewing on the end of his toothpick, "Er... Hachino-sensei? Are you okay?"
"Huh? Oh sure, I guess." Hachino-sensei replied, "Why wouldn't I be?"
"Oh. Good point, I just thought you looked a little tense."
"Hm? Well." Hachino-sensei glanced at the room Novikov-senpai was in, "I don't like orchestra instruments. The sound makes my ears bleed."
Seiji sweatdropped. Wow. That was mean.
"Ehh? Why not? I think Novikov-san is playing very well!" Seiji pointed out, and Hachino-sensei shrugged.
"I don't know."
Seiji decided that the conversation wouldn't go any further and just went outside. Hachino-sensei knew, he was probably just too lazy to delve any more into the subject. And already he'd said quite a handful. Any more, and it'd be asking a lot.
What a tiresome bunch of people. Seiji sighed, rather liking the sound of the birds. It was much more cheerful, and Seiji could relate this time. _________________
((Rella, I wasn't sure when you were going to post again, as I was waiting for you to, but... I'll just post now I guess. When you do your next post, you can just make it a long one, so everything will connect together as such. ^^))
As Ruika finished playing's Ravel's Tzigane by memory, she breathed a sigh of relief. It had been a while since she played a powerful piece like that. It wasn't a sad piece, per se, but she guessed that it could be... depending on who was listening to it. Though... through the fast part, if someone thought that it sounded sad... that'd be something unexpected indeed.
She decided to play two more pieces, which like the first one, she had them memorized; the first piece being one of Brahms's Violin Sonata, his Sonata for Violin and Piano in G Major, Op. 78, parts I-III. Unlike the last song she played, which was loud and quite powerful, this one was a lot more gentle, a lot more peaceful. She noticed that as she was playing it, she hadn't played this piece it quite some time as the last time she played it was in her first competition when she was five years old. It was one of her favorites and it made her happy to play it again.
It's funny that usually if someone doesn't do something for a long time, they'd forget. But, with her, she was somehow able to remember everything she had played and learned over the last thirteen years, which was usually why she rarely needed sheet music in front of her as she had most likely memorized it back in the day and was rare to see her with sheet music, unless it truly was her first time seeing. If she had hear the whole piece before, she wouldn't need the sheet music either as she also could distinguish the violin part(s) from a bunch of other instruments in a Concerto or a Symphony piece. Of course, she would get the music sheets anyway, just for reference.
After she finished playing all three parts, which took almost a half hour to play through the whole thing, she decided to play the piece that she had composed with her brother -- the same piece that she had listened to eariler. Ruika still couldn't remember the actual name of the piece, but she remembered that the original title was in German. Why they decided to have the title in German, instead of Russian or something else, they had no idea. She was wondering why she couldn't remember the name, as with her memory, she should still know it. She pondered about it for a little bit, before shrugging it off and began to play. She played only a fourth of the piece when her stomach began to growl.
"Huh? Heh, I guess I'm getting a bit hungry now. Guess I should try and find something to eat. Hm.. that song... what was the name of it...? I know I still have the sheet music to it, but I haven't looked at it in years, nor do I know why I forgot the name."
Ruika placed her violin and bow back in its case and headed for the door. When she got there, she realized that she hadn't closed it fully. Oops. The door was slightly open the whole time...? Wonder if anyone heard me play...? Ah well.

After Alexei was done playing with both parts of Bach's Viola Concerto in C Minor, he decided to play one of Brahms' Viola Sonatas, though he really had no idea which one he was playing at first. As he was playing, he was able to figure out that it was his Sonata for Viola and Piano. Op. 120, No. 1 in F Minor and like the last song he played, he noticed that song didn't sound the same as the time he played it. He was playing it more freely and much more gracefully than before.
Alexei didn't mind this new change at all, but he did wonder why he was playing like this. After all this time... why now? He was beginning to wonder that more and more as he was playing and even though he still wasn't sure if he even had a chance against Ruika, but hearing himself play like this, it gave him more confidence and even if he didn't win, he could perhaps win her respect, as she only liked his playing on saxophone and thought his viola playing was too stiff.
=-=-=-=-=
As Ruika was walking pass the rest of the music rooms, she noticed Alexei in one of them and decided to open the door just slightly and quietly, so she could hear him play. It had been some time since she had heard him play as she heard him play, her eyes widened and a smile formed on her face. This was what I was talking about, Alex. If you can continue to play like this, no matter what, I'll actually respect you a heck of a lot more as a musician. She stood there for a little bit, but decided not to evesdrop on him as what she was doing was actually rude and he would have been quite pissed if he saw her, so she closed the door quietly and continued on walking. _________________ "For me, as long as you're saying it, it doesn't matter how slowly you say it, I'll still listen.
OOC: Again, very, very sorry about this! It seems like I’m only available on days near weekends. =[
Hearing the stupid door bang again made Haruka really want to scream and knock that stupid guy out of his room and teach him a little something about banging doors but she resisted. It took her a good few minutes to get over it before continuing to unpack.
When she was about to place her last article of clothing into the drawers, Ruika stepped out of the balcony and into the room. Haruka immediately looked up to say something but stopped when she realized Ruika had red puffy eyes. Crying? Why would she be crying? Oh…haha, it must be because she already knows she’ll lose to me during this concour. Mm-hmm! Well, I won’t blame her for that. She turned back to what she was doing and placed the last blouse into her drawer then closed it quietly.
"You can take the drawers and I'll take the armoire. I've got enough space for my stuff as the armoire's a decent size."
Once again, she turned to look at Ruika who was putting some clothes into the armoire. Yup, she was definitely crying before, her voice proved it some more. Haruka shrugged, “Whatever, suit yourself.”
Without saying anything else, Ruika left the room with her violin, making Haruka frown. Oooh…I see what you’re trying to do! You’re trying to get ahead of me already! How rude! Well, I don’t lose to you! Grabbing her own clarinet case, she rushed to the practice rooms and got into the first room. The room with the nice view of the outside.
Just for practice, she decided to play a fast song so her fingers could exercise a bit first. “Haha, it’d be funny if I played this in front of that prodigy since it’s a Russian piece, she might be familiar with it and realize how nice it sounds. The sound of the clarinet playing The Flight of the Bumble-Bee by Nikolay Andreyevich Rimsky-Korsakov on B Flat Major is absolutely incredible though it would sound better if she had a pianist partner. Haha, if it will suit one of the themes, I’d be glad to play it,” she smirked and began to put her clarinet together.
OOC: Who wants to take the pleasure of starting the night scene already? XD _________________ ~Rella~
