Question: Is it okay with you guys if most of the pieces my characters play are modern, instead of classic?
(Modern = Composer is still Alive, Classic = Composer conked out a few years back.)
Because Seiji is playing practically all Nobuo Uematsu pieces so far. :/

And Kei is playing all pieces by a nobody composer. :/
(And I'm having huge difficulty with Mizuki, since Harp's aren't really solo instruments.)

Well, I don't care, but... With Seiji, since he plays piano, there are sooo~ many pieces out there for it. You shouldn't have a problem finding ones just for piano. (I have some if you'd like me to send them to you) The other two, um... might be a bit harder, especially for Mizuki. Kei, since he doesn't play a normal flute, pieces might be a bit harder since I dunno if you can play normal flute pieces with a vertial flute. Yeah I know there are lot's of piano pieces... >.< But I'm picky. *shot* I'll stick a classic one in there though, for sure. *goes to search for one*
With Mizuki, I may have to make 'em up. :/ Because this is impossible.
A vertical flute is exactly the same as a regular flute, the only difference is that you have a different headpiece that allows you to hold the flute as if it were a clarinet. (You just turn the body of the flute vertically, which is why it's called a vertical flute.) So it should be simple, and I can play a few myself. (Though they'll suck. Just pretend that they sound good. xDD)
Wow, you already thought of the songs! I just started to look for some but I can't find clarinet solos anywhere, a lot of trio clarinet pieces though. X_X Luckily, I found pieces with a clarinet and a piano but I'm not even sure if the composers are famous or anything and it's hard to find the themes for it. >.<
Anyway, yeah, it doesn't matter whether or not the composter is dead or alive (OMG, Dead or Alive XDD) or famous or not. If the piece sounds good, it's good.
As for Mizuki, maybe you can google some harp midis and see if they're good or not. If they're pretty good but are by unknown artists, make up a name for the artist. I think it'd be better than making up the whole thing. Of course, if that doesn't work then I guess you do have to make them up. =[

I've got really no problem finding violin solos or ones that need an acommpanist, but for viola~ a completely different story. I downloaded a few mp3s last night, but I'm unsure where to put them in and one of the songs that I have on my comp is a really nice piece, but... it's made for viola, violin, and orchestra and... I can't seem to just find the violin or viola parts separately (among that the piece is also a little over 11 minutes). ^^;; Is that alright? That also applies to some of the violin pieces I've been finding too.
I might change it later, but I'll put up links for the ones that I do have now.

Okay, when it comes to the rooming arrangements... hm...
Let's see... who reeeally~ hates who before we decide on the final arrangements. Here's what my character's think of every other participant in the concours:
Ruika ----> Alexei = Doesn't mind him, but knows that he doesn't like her odd sleeping habit. (it's actually not as odd as you might think, but at her age.. it might seem a bit strange...) That and she knows that he envies her talent, even though he's talented too, but doesn't see it. She wonders at times what the heck the guy is thinking as he sometimes just doesn't use his head or why he does some things impulsively.
++She does wonder though how she can improve her relationship with him as he's virtually the only person she's opened up even somewhat to, even though he doesn't seem to care about what she says a lot of the time.
" " ----> Mizuki = Isn't sure what to think about her. She still finds it weird that it seemed like Mizuki hated her at first, but now is acts all cheerful and hyper-like. It's probably just another side of her that Ruika isn't used to seeing right now, but she doesn't hate her; she used to think she was just like some of the people at the music academy in Paris, but now... she just doesn't know what to think.
++She might actually consider becoming friends with her, but she's really scared to make the same mistake twice. Hence why she needs to make sure that she just isn't going to use her or betray her before she even considers opening up at all to her.
" " ----> Seiji = Barely knows him, so she can't really think much of him. He seems nice enough though. Once she gets to know him a tad bit better, her opinion could change about him.
++She actually could get along and probably become with him as he's done nothing to piss her off or something to think otherwise about him.
" " ----> Kei = Ruika knows that Kei hates her from the start and she doesn't like him the same. His personality just plain ticks her off as it reminds her of the kids at her old school and what Alexei used to act like. Hence why she's almost completely apathetic to his words and can tune a lot of it out; she's heard them way~ too much when she was younger.Sure, Alexei, still has his temper and such, but it seriously used to be worse. That, and she thinks that he has a complex or something...
++Unless Kei changes a WHOLE~ lot, which she highly doubts will happen, their personalities completely clash, so they probably won't be friends, let alone acquaintances.
" " ----> Haruka = Reminds her of her self, when she was younger. Talented, but still has so much room to grow. Of course... her personality's a whole~ lot different than hers was when she was younger as she tends to think almost anyone to be her rival (in a way..).
++She thinks that she could actually could be okay, but her personality needs work indefinitely.

Alexei ----> Ruika = Though he cares about and respects Ruika (both as a musician and a person) deep down, he only shows it in subtle ways. The two have a cloudy relationship as one minute they seem like actual siblings (though they're cousins) and the next, he completely hates her. One of the major reasons that he doesn't like Ruika would because of her talent and it was because of her that his parents virtually neglected him. He knows that Ruika didn't take the attention away on purpose, nor did she want to take ALL of it away; it was just out of her control, but his pride and jealousy blind him.
++Unless he can completely get over jealousy, his relationship with Ruika really won't get any better. But... he admits that it's a whole lot better than it was eight years ago...
" " ----> Mizuki = He's not all that fond of her, but it's not like he hates her. Her hyperness/cheerfullness annoys him as it just reminds him waay~ too much of when Ruika has sweets (not all sweets make her uber hyper, just a few).
++Not really sure if he WANTS to be friends with her as she could be more of an annoyance to him than a friend.
" " ----> Seiji = Even though they're in the same class, he doesn't know him that well. At this point in time, his feelings for him are quite neutral, so he doesn't hate or like him now.
++He could be friends with him, but he just isn't sure right now as he doesn't really know him.
" " ----> Kei = He thinks that Kei has some MAJOR issues. He knows that he has a fiery temper, but still... Kei's is seriously worse. Geez~ even Ruika doesn't have mood swings THAT bad and that makes Alexei sad.
++He actually could be an alright person, that is if he gets a MAJOR attitude check, along with settling some of his issues. If he doesn't change, well.. being friends with him is highly unlikely.

Mizuki -> Ruika: Mizuki is mixed. She hates to hell some of her personality traits, and is okay with some of them. She doesn't particularly like any of them though, especially her arrogance towards Haruka. But, in the end, she definetely likes Ruika better then Haruka.
Mizuki -> Seiji: "Huuuh?" (AKA: I don't know you. At all.)
Mizuki -> Kei: "No no no! Onii-chan is disgusting!!" (AKA: Mizuki dislikes Kei's personality, even though they switch about, with Mizuki being the one in control when it's just them, but Kei being the one in control when people are around. It's a maze of a relationship, and the exit isn't anywhere in sight.)
Mizuki -> Alexei: "Who are you talking about? Do I know you?" (ROFL.)
Mizuki -> Haruka: Mizuki definetely likes Haruka better then Ruika, but Mizuki isn't exactly excited to hang out with her either. She doesn't like how she claims every person she see's "her rival". Mizuki doesn't accept Haruka as a rival, feeling that she isn't worth her time.

Kei -> Ruika: Need I say anything after his explosion?
Kei -> Seiji: Angel sent from the Heaven's? Or suck up sent from the depths of too-good-to-be-true land? Most probably the latter, but at least he doesn't piss Kei off.
Kei -> Alexei: He thinks Alexei is Ruika's little shadow slave, backing her up and revealing useless tidbits about her personality. But he doesn't say anything about it- and he keeps anything that might reveal his dislike to himself. He's already got enough trouble with his cousin.
Kei -> Haruka: No comment. He hasn't yet really noticed her, as she's nothing special yet. If he had to have a view on her, it'd be a pesky gnat, mostly because she declared him her rival, which is troublesome and annoying. But she's definetely a thousand times better then Ruika.

Seiji -> Ruika: "She seems like a very nice person. I don't know why it seems as if everyone is resenting her for something. Maybe it's because she's a prodigy? But, it's not like that's her fault, right?"
Seiji -> Mizuki: "A very very sweet person. I don't know her all that well though, but she seems very interesting. Like a puzzle! ...That's impossible to put together."
Seiji -> Kei: "Wow. It's mean, I know, but... he's awfully sour. *sweatdrop* Ah, but, I'm not saying that he's not a nice person! He's probably misunderstood, like Novikov-san! Maybe I just need to get to know him better..."
Seiji -> Alexei: "Uhm... he's quiet. But, that's not a bad thing! It's just hard to talk to him. It's amazing how close Takuya-san got to him. He's like ice... Er, that was very mean. I'm very sorry! *sweat*"
Seiji -> Haruka: "Asazaki-senpai is... well... she's very passionate. I guess. She's awfully determined with her instrument... kind of has a one-track mind... B-But, I'm not judging her or anything, she's a very nice person!"
Seiji -> Seiji: "...Me? Well... my shoulders kind of hurt... Again. I wonder if it'll get worse... I hope not, otherwise I'll have to play small range pieces..."

Hachino -> Mizuki: Whatever. (Translation: I don't know her all that well.)
Hachino -> Kei: Uh... (Translation: He asked me a question. Does he expect an answer?)
Hachino -> Seiji: Hn. (Translation: Seems pleasant enough. Solves problems for me. He's okay.)
Hachino -> Haruka: Pest. (Translation: She can stop running her mouth about rivalry now. She doesn't know what 'rival' means. If I hear that word out of her mouth one more time, I think I'll blow my lid.)
Ooh, by the way, Haruka’s definitely going to change near the middle of the RP, she's going to be depressed and saddened for awhile. Actually, in the beginning of the second concour, her confidence will slowly die because of someone. I believe that all stubborn characters should change in the end because if he/she doesn't then he/she didn't grow at all, plus I have Hiro there for a reason. And here’s how she feels towards the others:
Ruika – Sees her as a rival and will always see her that way until she beats her. She hates the way she’s always patronizing her and giving her warnings. Basically, it’ll take a long time before they can actually get along. XD If they were roomed together, they’d probably be at each other’s throats for the entire time.
Mizuki – Doesn’t see her as much of an enemy. If she had to befriend one of the people in the concours, it would be either her or Seiji. Since Mizuki didn’t show any sign of hatred towards her and she didn’t do anything to her, she’s okay with Mizuki. But because she is in the concours, she will also watch out for her.
Alexei – Doesn’t like him because she sees him as only a shadow of Ruika’s. If he could step out, she’d respect him a lot more. Shadows are the worst to her because she sees them as weaklings--the complete opposite of confident people.
Kei – Used to think he was okay but after what happened before, she can only see him as a rude person. She dislikes rude people. The fact that he’s in the concours makes her see him as an enemy too since it was so sudden for someone from the Regular Department to get into the concours. If he was not from the Music Department, he must’ve been pretty good since he managed to get in.
Seiji – She respects him because he is handicapped and is not always saddened by that fact. Also, because she doesn’t see him as much of a threat, she doesn’t mind him being in the concours.
Okay, so this is what I’m getting:
Ruika doesn’t want to be roomed with Haruka or Alexei.
Mizuki doesn’t want to be roomed with Kei.
Alexei doesn’t want to be roomed with Ruika or Haruka.
Kei doesn’t want to be roomed with Haruka, Ruika, Mizuki or Seiji (?)
Haruka doesn’t want to be roomed with Alexei, Ruika, or Kei.
You know what I think? I think it’d be fun to pair Mizuki up with Alexei. It’d be cool to see their reactions toward each other. XDD But since Kei isn’t okay with that, I guess that won’t happen. Wouldn’t that mean Mizuki have to be in a room with a girl?

That would be pretty boring if everything was fine and dandy too. Totally agree on that. *nods* Yeah, having them change over the course of the RP will definitely be a good thing. I'll figure out how Alexei is going to change (it'll take me a little thinking) and with Ruika, remember the last few pictures that she was drawing and the last piece that she was composing? They'll definitely come into play later on.
And with what you said Rella about how who doesn't want to be roomed with who, I think all of it is right, 'cept Ruika also doesn't want to room with Kei. Out of Haruka, Alexei, and Kei, Kei's the one who's personality conflicts with hers the most, though Haruka isn't really far behind at all. Kei in reality doesn't like being roomed with people in general, as he's *spoiler, though it's not all that exciting* afraid of people who see him as skilled/talented, and unless he knows they think of him as scum, then he's usually afraid of them as well. (Mizuki thinks he's dirt, so he's not afraid of her. He vents fear through anger. But, I suppose Kei-chan is a naturally angry person...)
So, I see Mizuki and Seiji being the only people who could room with Ruika and things being clean.
Mizuki rooming with Kei, or Alexei would be a nightmare scene. (If she roomed with Alexei, she'd probably be bubbly x10 just to bug him. xDD)
Kei rooming with anyone will be a nightmare scene, but he'll just have to live with it, because he's too proud to sleep on the couch.
Seiji is okay with rooming with anyone. x3 *Super huggle* HE'S SO ADORABLE. *swoon* (Wow. Isn't this sad? I'm swooning over my own character. XDD)
