Has anyone seen it? I absolutely loved the ending. The art isn't anything spectacular but it's about students at a music college and centres around the relationship between eccentric pianist Noda Megumi (nodame) and (slightly stuck up) pianists/violinist/aspiring conductor, Shinichi Chiaki.
The characters are really loveable and apart from La Corda, the only other anime I can find that's really centred around classical music. The way they animate the instruments as well, is pretty neat.
One of my favourite pieces from this series is Rachmananov's piano concerto, thought I may want to add that, haha
Megumi Noda, or “Nodame” is a piano student at Momogaoka College of Music. An extremely talented pianist who wants to be a kindergarten teacher, she prefers playing by ear rather than reading the music score. She is messy and disorganized, takes baths several days apart and loves to eat, sometimes stealing her friend’s lunchbox when it is filled with delicacies.
Shinichi Chiaki, is Momogaoka’s top student. Born into a musical family, he is talented in piano and violin and has secret ambitions to become a conductor. An arrogant multi-lingual perfectionist who once lived abroad in the music capitals of the world as a young boy (namely Prague), he is trapped in Japan because of his childhood phobia.
They meet by accident. Nodame quickly falls in love, but it takes much longer for Chiaki to even begin to appreciate Nodame’s unusual qualities. Their relationship causes them both to develop and grow. Along the way, they meet some crazy people (like Masumi, Mine, and Stresemann) and make lasting friendships. Because of Nodame, Chiaki gets the opportunity to lead a student orchestra and begins to have a broader appreciation of people's musical abilities. Because of Chiaki, Nodame faces her fears and enters a piano competition. Opportunities open up as both begin taking risks, stretching themselves far more than they ever thought possible.
nodame cantabile is also released as dorama, 11 episodes plus 2 additional episodes with some additional players as well..
the story is so manga like..and very funny..XD
*actually i wanna post more about the dorama but i'm not sure in this thread..XD~*

That synopsis is taken from Drama Wiki yes? It has lot of info on the drama

s-projects.org had it for a while but they've closed down now. However I'm sure it's possible to find it somewhere. Even when the animation of the instruments was fantastic in the anime, I'm glad I watched it before the drama because seeing it with real people is just brilliant. And the comedy is great The girl who plays nodame is normally put into serious roles but she's just so cute in this ^.^ _________________
They seem the same at first because they're the only two classical music-y anime around, but they're really very different. Nodame's completely different to Hino... or any 'normal' person, haha. But Chiaki sorta reminds me of Tsukimori. Anywho, you'll find out when you watch it _________________
