Hello Everyone! Thank you for stopping by! Welcome to the Cubi O Club Online Community! My father ran the Cubi O' Club for several of its BEST years with THREE consecutive Best Navy Club Large Awards - setting a record - for a total of FOUR top club awards during my father's tenure.

We arrived in the Philippines in 1981 when I was 6 years old. I cannot begin to tell you what an amazing experience the next five years of my life was like. Much of it had to do with the people surrounding me and those people were the Cubi O' Club family.

I often joke that when I was there, I didn't have one or two big brothers and sisters watching over me - I had HUNDREDS.....and every one of those beautiful souls touched my life, showed my family and I nothing but love and have continued to beam love 21 years after leaving the Philippines.

What often amazes me about the Cubi O' family is that it continues to remain close, it continues to be supportive and loving of each of its members no matter where in the world they are. There have been several reunions all over the United States where we've come to smile again at old memories and laughed making new ones.

We had many of the master tapes of much of the FEN coverage of events held at Cubi, additional club footage as well as albums and albums of club event pictures so I had wanted to create a site for some time in terms of preserving the history of this historic club that sadly is no more. Of course life gets busy and I slacked on the idea for years.

Recently, Marissa Mosley - a long time member of "the family" and dear soul - contacted my father to tell him of an upcoming reunion. My father passed on the information to me and I got newly inspired in creating the site. Yesterday was his 64th birthday so I thought as a present to him, I'd stop being a slacker and start working on this.

I wanted not just a site to connect people connected to the club, but I also wanted to create a site to try and collect as many pictures, stories, videos, etc., to keep a permanent living digital history of this historic place so that it is never forgotten. The best way I could think to do that was for it to be as interactive as possible with EVERYONE being allowed to find the site and add to it.

This site will be a work in progress. Anyone is allowed to sign up. If you just happened to live in Cubi or Subic, work there or frequented the clubs, we hope you join! Over the course of years I have often come across many squadron websites that have had stories about the club. I hope we will be able to draw many to share stories of the club here!

In order to join, all you have to do it click Register at the top of this page. It is SO EASY. It will simply ask you if you are over 13 years of age and when you say yes it will take you to a page where all you need to do is create a user name (for example: Amo) and then create a password and then enter your email address. That's it! Nothing more!

Once anyone joins the message board, you will be able to create a profile by simply clicking the Profile link at the top if the page. When you click there, you will be able to add information like your location, your personal website if you wish to share, online photo album links and you can also upload a picture or avatar that will appear next to your name every time you post! You can even change your user name if you don't like the first one you picked! If for some reason you are intimidated by this - ask a kid or teenager if you have one around you! They will get you all hooked up in about 8 seconds - kids are technologically brilliant and quick these days! When I was a kid, we only got credit for being able to program the VCR better than our folks. Now parents are saying things like, "Ya, my 9 year old just wired the house with wireless motion sensor security cameras that feed video wirelessly to my laptop and made an uplink to the net!" Huh?! I'm telling you, if you get stuck, ask a kid!

Right now, you can see all the general forums without having to sign up. However, you cannot post a reply or start a new topic without signing up first and registering. The Cubi O' Club Family forum is hidden and will only be viewable to confirmed Tropa members.

To read any message in the forums, just click on it. If you wish to reply, at the bottom of the message you will be able to do so. If you want to start a new Topic in a forum, just click on POST NEW TOPIC. It's very easy! You can even create polls, add video, add pictures, add hyperlinks! Unfortunately this is not an ad-free site so sometimes you will see messages on the message boards that are posted by SPONSOR - those are just ads that I have no control over so it's best to just ignore them.

You will also be allowed to send private emails through this site to any of it's members once you become a member. Simply click on the Members link and it will list everyone who has joined. You can click on the EMAIL link next to their name to send them a personal and private message through this board. It WILL NOT give your personal email address out or any other personal information. All members can check for messages they have received by clicking on the Private Messages link at the top. When you get a message just look at the top of the page and it should tell you!

If you still have some more questions, or need better instructions, please refer to the FAQ section at the top of the page. This page will give you really easy DETAILED instructions and guidance on anything you might want to know about the site. Or, once you are a member, you can submit your question right at the top of the page in the SHOUTBOX and I will answer the next time I am on, or maybe another member can answer and help out! Or, use the SHOUTBOX simply just to say HI!

I am sad that the bases are no more. I saw some pictures of the Cubi O' Club recently - it's been turned into a huge disco last I heard was called SUMMIT. The exterior and landscaping all look dilapidated. Hard to tell that the enormous place was one of the finest establishments in the West and has a history that simply is beyond words, beyond photos, beyond video - anyone that was there will forever carry the spirit of the Cubi O' Club. My time there was Camelot for me and like Camelot, the spirit of the Cubi O' Club will live inside of me for all eternity.

In the spirit of that, I decided to write a book about this notoriously historic and altogether remarkable slice in space and time. Please stay tuned for more updates!
