HA HA HA.....you're so funny Bill!
I didn't exactly kick ass....Dan is the one that talked me through it when I started to get a little fatigued towards the end....so, Thanks Dan!
I'm sorry you missed it today Bill.  CVR was well represented and several of us walked away with ribbons!   Good job everyone!

I'm not a member of your club but wanted to introduce myself and say that I enjoyed the highlander run yesterday.  It was my first event I've run and was happy to beat my goal for myself going into it.   (to finish in under 30 minutes).   not real fast, but I didn't think I'd ever get to that pace.  don't think I could have gone much longer at that pace, though, LOL.

My name is Teri and look forward to getting to know you.

Teri, Glad to see you join the board.  I am new to running also, so I know how those personal goals feel.   I am glad that you acheived one, which is only the first of many.  Looking forward to sharing the road or hopefully trail with you soon.  Nick

thanks.

I've been running off and on a couple years but am pretty much a "fair weather runner, lol".   I didn't run much this past winter (although, I did do my treadmill some).  but started up in the spring again and have run quite a bit on my own this summer also.

most of my runs end up being around 3 miles but occasionally I have gone between 4 and 5 for a run.  obviously from my 5k time I'm not very fast but it's a huge accomplishment for me to be able to do it at all.  I've lost a lot just over 100 pounds as of this morning and pretty much went from very little activity so, although I'd love to be faster or be able to run farther, I'm thrilled I can do as much as I do.

if anyone wants to know any more about me, feel free to ask.  Smile

Welcome aboard Teri and congratulations on the personal best!!!

I'm not a speed demon myself. We do have some amazing fast runners but for the most part we're just a bunch of average joe's ( and josaphene's ) that enjoy running

I look forward to seeing ya around! Very Happy

Teri,
Congrats on your astounding weight loss!!  What a remarkable achievement!  Also congrats on your running.

As Bill and molleedawg have both mentioned we are all a bunch average people who like to run and accomplish personal goals.  I can't speak for everyone else but I am pretty sure the feelings are the same, the run club has been a great inspiration for me.  I've found some really great people to run with and have found myself running distances and speeds I had no idea I was capable of because I've gotten caught up in the camaraderie of the people I'm running with.

As for the fair weather running, we have several people in the club who would put themselves in the same category however they found themselves running in the winter/spring rain on Sat. mornings at our weekly runs. It is amazing how just having other people to run with can really make the elements more bearable.

Hope to see you out there Teri!
Congrats again on all your accomplishments!

thanks. I'll try and make a run some time when there is a route that I can cut shorter if necessary.  not so sure I can do 6+ miles (or that it would be good to jump to 6 miles without working up to it).  I know I couldn't do many more miles than the 5K at the speed I did saturday (i did it in a little under 30 min.)  I think I pushed close to as hard as I could for that one, lol.

I am going to be taking about  a week off of hard exercise and then I'll be back out there.   I've worked hard all summer and my body needs a break.  I do hope to find one I feel I could do with you even if I end up having to cut it down shorter.  Smile

I love running in the rain.

Nobody wants to run with me in the rain, but I like it.

I've never run in the rain, I don't think other than just a little misting or sprinkling.
