Something did happen we all kicked ars.  My Lovely (that is for you Keli) wife and my lovely friends Mark & Cathy did great.  We had a great time or a good time anyway.  The weather was perfect for this time of year, it wasn't raining and the sun was shining a little. And for this being Beckys first half she did super at 2:06 and she didn't hate it when she was done. Mark & Kathy also did great but I will let them tell all.

I had a great run.  I had no intentions of placing because I haven't been training very hard at all.  I took off at what I thought was a comfortable pace for the first 4 or so miles which turned out to be a lot faster than I thought.  I ran with a young man who works at the Portland FitRight store for quite a few miles, Ruben was his name I believe, great kid.  I do have to say it's a pretty good climb up to the top of that hill, but I like those hills.  And I cruzed the down hills.

When I came around the last corner to the finish I new I was in the top 20 still but I managed to take 2 full minutes off my half time.  I finished in 1:23:50 averaging a 6:24 pace.  I won the overall masters and took 1st in my age group.  What a great feeling.  I have to thank all the old fast guys who didn't show up so I could do this.

YOU GUYS ALL ROCK!!  FANTASTIC EFFORT!!

Great post Dave, I especially like the "lovely wife" part!!  Laughing
Maybe one of these days your "lovely" wife will register (instead of just reading the posts) as a user on the board and make comments about her "studly husband!" That would be good fun for me to read.  Wink

This is a great course. Mark of course kicked my butt,he should really train occ.  Becki did a great job and turned in a time that was awesome, the hill is hellacious and I am sure thats why they call it run like hell.
Dave spent the end of the race drinking beer and bonding with the Devil.   Just a warning for the rest of us.....
