You guys missed a great event! The Ridgefield Runners put on a good run. It was well organized, the course was well marked, results were printed on site and tons of cookies, coffee and cocoa in great little cafe afterwards. Besides all that, you missed my first ever (and probably my only) OVERALL FEMALE win!! Woohooo... okay, so all the really fast women opted for the 10k and I opted for the 5k.  I even got my picture taken with Santa for winning and an ornament to hang on my tree that says overall winner!! I might just get something other then coal this year in my stocking.  Maybe running shoes?
Kevin Filkowski also ran the 10k and placed 1st in his age division and 3rd (I think) overall. Good job Kevin!!
AND IT SNOWED THE ENTIRE TIME WE WERE RUNNING!!
I recommend this event to everyone next year. The course is an out and back with one small hill on the way out and one on the way back with minimual traffic and lots of volunteers directing runners. |
