The Kalama River Run was a blast again this year. It always has a lot of appeal to me. I grew up up the kalama so I like the course a lot. The race officials are all great and their are always a bunch of friends there.
This year I ran in with Tiff. she met me at the statue at lake sac. We ran at a very leisurely pace "for her " It was all that I could do to keep up The kid is a machine! we arrived at rose valley road a full hour before we were to meet Laura. Good and bad Good I got a break ..... Bad another fast runner for me to pretend to keep up to Both of them are true athletes and I thank them for taking it easy on me.
The race itself was lightly attended this year but there were still a lot of familiar faces. The weather was warm but doable and the coarse beautiful as usual. I had a really good run. Both of my boys rode in with the hunters and put in good personal times. Bill came within a whisker of beating me! I got a ribbon in my age group ( like I said my age division was pretty slim this year ) I cant begin to list the awards our faster club members garnered. Congratulations to you all.
After the race some one pointed out Tiff to me and said "she ran all the way here from Longview" I said "Cool"
All in all another good year at this race and I definitely recommend it _________________ many miles before I sleep |
