Well, the Running of the Fools is over for another year. Hard to believe only 2 years ago we held this event on a whim with only 10 or so people and this year we had over 200 registrants! Who would've thought!
This year's competition was pretty stiff too. Sure glad I wasn't running it, my age category had 21 runners in it! The overall pace of the race was a lot faster this year. We had lots of participants travel from out of town to run our race.
Despite the weather, the overall atmosphere seems pretty darn jolly. I would like to personally thank everyone who helped out on race day.. I can't even begin to tell you all how wonderful it is to have such self-motivated members in our club. The girls at registration just pretty much took over and wouldn't let me do anything.. that was pretty funny. And the guys at the finish line were all great too, standing out there in the pouring down rain until the very last person crossed the line. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!
