Below is a diagram to help you sex your degus, its always best to double check when you first get them so you don't get a surprise a few months down the line  Sexing degus can be difficult at first just by taking a look underneath as both male and female look relatively the same as the males testes lay inside the abdomen. The diagram below shows the slight differences that help you tell the sexes apart 
The top diagram shows a male degu note the distance between the anus and urethra is greater then in the bottom diagram of the female.
