Recently there has been a case in Sussex of 200 Spiney mice that were due to be gassed if places weren't found.
The lady dealing with this case thought that she had sorted the problem out and had managed to place all the mice.
Her helpers went in to get the last lot today to find that the people keeping these mice had hundreds more! They have agreed to sign all of their animals over to rescue, but they are in a bad way.
In one tank there are a massive amount, males and females, many injured and dying and some dead. There are other smaller tanks too, which contain mixed sex groups.
The rescue has agreed to bring the whole lot here today so that we can sex, start treatment on the sick ones and sadly make decisions for the ones past the point of no return. Without getting the whole lot out this problem is never going to end, so it is absolutely necessary that these animals are removed without further delay.
This does mean that we are going to have an uncopable amount of mice here and I am appealing to the public to help us.
Please, if you can manage to foster or adopt let me know. I can only cope with so many animals and up to 400 mice is slightly stretching my sanity!

Please get in touch urgently if you can help with these mice. They need to be kept in tanks of which we have a limited number so any offers of foster places with tanks available would be gratefully received. |
