Does anyone else Degu make a racket when the door goes? When someone approaches the door Pix an Dix go mad, squeeking and telling us a stranger is at the door. Is it just mine? |

Degus can be funny sometimes, it sounds like maybe when someone approaches the door it spooks them and they sound off 
My first pair used to do that and then run and hide when a stranger (i.e someone they didn't recognise as a treat giver) entered the room

We live in an apartment and ours are in their own bedroom and they still squeak when someone comes to the front door . They hear the keys in the door when my hubby is coming home and they start cheeping, it's pretty cute  .
As for strangers, because they're in their own room and usually only see my hubby and I, when I bring strangers in to see them they all run and hide. Everyone wants to see a degu/chilean squirrel but they're no where to be found! I usually end up going in alone and bringing one out to see . Degus are pretty smart especially when it comes to sounds (like your hand going into the treat bag!!)

Our two boys kush and charlie are little furry door bells they go mental if someones there that shouldnt they also make great house alarms!!lol
