Please help me! Our Beti got over the night small right eye. Something is runing from the eye like water. Does that means that his eye is eager or purulent??? Yesterday he has sand in it after his bath sand.
Other than that he looks ok, he eats and drink like always and running in his plastic wheel.
Please help us, our vets don't know what is degu.
Can we wash his eye with cold camomile tee withcotton-wool?
PLEASE HELP ! !!!!!!" |

It sounds like he has gotten something in his eye, more then likely sand. The eye is running to try and rid the eye of the irritant. You need to get him out and take a look at the eye and try and see if there is any sand left in there. If there is you will need to flush the eye out with water (i recommend you boil some water and let it go cool and then use that or you can use cooled camomile tea too the choice is yours) a couple of times to try and remove the sand.
Even if you can't see any sand when you look it wouldn't hurt to flush the eye out just incase. You will need to keep a close eye on him for a few days to make sure the sand hasn't scratched the surface of the eye and caused infection. Usually once the sand is removed after a day or two his eye will return to normal but its wise to keep an eye on it for a day or two _________________
