Hey guys..sorry about all the posts. I've had my degus for a few days now. Today I started to notice that one of my degus fur is matted surrounding each side of his nose. The only thing I can see that is causing this is the furious scratching he does in this area. I'm really worried he'll get an infection. Anything anything anything you suggest will be taken!!
See where it's dark brown? The pictures are fuzzy..haha it's hard taking photos of degus when I actually want a certain pose!
I think it's getting worse by day

Its hard to say what it could be but from the pictures it does look inflammed and slightly reddened. I would take him to see your vet if you can and get him checked over to be on the safe side. Please keep us posted on how he is
