I agree with the Degu Diet completely. In addition I use Brisky Degu Pellets as my main staple food. My little girl likes it and there is no cane molassas or other sugars listed. Anyone have thoughts on this product? www.brisky.com

There is also another company that produces specific Degu food: www.exoticnutrition.com   I have not used this product.......[/b][/u]

Unfortunately we can't get Brisky's in the UK but i have heard good things about it of my friends from the US Smile

As for the degu food from exotic nutrition before you buy i would check to see if they have a list of ingredients for you to have a look at as many pre made degu foods contain seeds that are fattening and only should be fed occasionally. I recently came across one that had banana chips and raisens added Wide eyed So it always pays to check first  Wink

I am supprised that Brisky won't ship to the UK, or is the shipping cost too high? This is the ingredient list from the label: Wheat Middlings, Solvent Extracted Soybean Meal, Soy Hulls, Ground Yellow Corn, Ground Oats, Calcium Carbonate, Lignin Sulfonate, Tallow*, Mono Dicalcium Phosphate, Salt, Buffered Propionic Acid, Acetic Acid, Sorbic, Oil of Orange, Roughage Products, Lactobacillus Acid, Strepto, Faecium, Aspergillus Oryzea, Bacillus Substillus, Choline Chloride, DI Methionine, Vitamin C Supplement, Deoderase, Vitamin E Supplement, Magnesium Potassium Sulfate, Mineral Oil, Niacin, Manganous Oxide, Iron Sulfate, Selenium Yeast, Zinc Oxide, Zinc Sulfate, Vitamin A Supplement, Vitaman D Supplement, Copper Sulfate, Pantothenic Acid, Vitamin D3 Supplement, Folic Acid, Riboflavin, Vitamin B-12, Sodium Selenite, Biotin, Flavoring, Pyridoxine Hcl, Vitamin K Supplement, Cobolt Carbonate, Thiamine, Calcium Iodate.  Caution: Do Not Feed Supplemental Selenuim in Excess of .3 ppm of Total Diet.

*The Tallow is animal fat that they use as a binder for the pellets. It is in very small quantity, but I would think that it is better to use than Cane Molassas!

Any thoughts on this product based on the ingredients? It has no seeds or nuts and looks like a chin/rabbit pellet.

As far as i'm aware no pet shops stock it over here and no online retailers seem to either. I would imagine the shipping would be quite high as i looked into shipping food across before and that was high, three times as much as the food cost Wide eyed

The food looks generally ok as it has added vitamin c and no added sugars. The only thing i can see is it has added salt and a slightly higher than average protein level which shouldn't be a problem if people don't over feed it and it is part of a healthy diet. Apart from that it looks like good diet  Smile
