Hello everyone. I belong to a guinea pig forum as well as this one. A friend on there lives in Southern California. There are 3 degus at her Humane Society there. They are there because their owner is going through a court case.(Not animal cruelty related) They are actually illegal to own in CA. They have no knowledge or funds to care for them properly.
My friend is a volunteer there and is limited to what they will let her do. Can anyone in the area help us? Anyone willing to pull them from the shelter if allowed? I am willing to send a donation of food. We are on the east coast and have no way of getting them.
I have given her as much info as possible and linked her here and to other forums. She is concerned that they are diabetic. In the meantime she is feeding them high quality guinea pig pellets however it may contain mollases. Should she just give them chinchilla food? Thanks in advance for any help! |

Lets hope someone takes these little one's in very soon.

for your friend

Update please someone help! They have 13 there and they have officially become property of the shelter. They cannot adopt them to a CA resident. I need names of shelters in Nevada and Arizona that take degus, please someone? Anyone? We have a few weeks at best but if no home is found 13 degus will more than likely be put down. Thanks everyone! |
